Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

DBD Players, we have to be careful

Ive seen this before, players of a game becoming opinionated about a gameplay and trying to make changes democratically. DBD is a great game, and its our fault if it dies. Yes, some killers are hard to beat. Some survivors are hard to catch. Some perks seem unfair. But, if we choose to complain, changed will be made. And, as weve seen, some changes make things worse. And thats true for many characters in the game. Instead of whining, just get better at playing thegame the way it currently is.

Excuse me? Freddy's original gameplay was great?

Better than the current one. It was more realistic to the movies. He made his prey fall asleep

lol You lost all merit when you said buffed Freddy is worse than old Freddy. Unpopular opinion but i rather liked old Freddy as well, the fact you could not be seen unless you put them to sleep was great. Buffed Freddy is amazing though in comparison for so many reasons.

You’re right. “Be careful what you wish for,” is the old saying. The problem with our community is that people are too close-minded and stubborn to understand why some things are the way they are, and why others are changed contrarily.

Freddys original game play was great? Who in the hell told you this?

No, some of it is called for.

The devs won’t just yield to what the community wants, they like the feedback but for the most part you don’t see much influence in the changes for it.

Entitlement will always exist regardless so there’s nothing that can really be done there. The adapting part of the community always exists, but you need to keep in mind some of the whining is in fact, called for. Like it or not they are a consumer and they have the right to source their feedback, but it’s nicer to have constructive criticism. But saying the game is something you need to adapt to isn’t necessarily true when some things are, in fact broken.

OP, our views are very similar, yes, but some changes or feedback the community provides or frustration is apart of the process.

It’s better to have feedback that counts, the idea of just sucking it up isn’t something you should look for in a game of this type (as in the case of worse performance or changes). I think it could be geared more towards the constructive criticism aspect however— not to say that the whining isn’t annoying but rather it’s one step away from being actually useful to the development of the game.

TLDR: I get what you’re saying to some extent but the whining does make sense, and it’s an important part of the process, but I think that instead of the form of “whining” you cite is semi-valid and has a way to improve through the form of constructive criticism. Instead of saying “This change is stupid” add to why you don’t like the change— why it doesn’t make sense to you, and provide decent usable feedback. There’s nothing to go off of the example I provided, but you get the idea.

Ive seen games and websites go 404 due to user suggestions. I began playing with freddy. Sure, it took 2 dream curses to make one fall asleep then you still had to hit a survivor twice, but it never occurred to me to complain about it. I learned how to use freddy effectively with perks.
