Recommend me some shows to watch
So, I’m running out of shows and need some good recommendations. I’m a big fan of shows with action and supernatural elements, though I’m not averse to sitcoms and comedy.
Shows I like are
Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Probably my all time favorite)
The Strain
Van Helsing (Latest season could have been better)
Prison Break
30 Rock (Favorite Comedy)
The Magicians (Was surprisingly good!)
Game of Thrones (Last two seasons were meh and Cersei needed a much worse ending)
The Boys (Fantastic take on Super Heroes)
Agents of Shield (Started slow but got better and better, though a little repetitive)
DareDevil (#2 all time favorite, Marvel needs to make more shows like this).
I’m hoping Kung fu and Martial arts makes a come back because I miss watching shows and movies with it. I was a big fan of Martial Law and the Rush Hour Movies.

D A R K - there’s an upcoming final season 3, and it can take watching it twice to get a good grip on what the hell is going on sometimes. I would describe it as a darker version of Back to the Future on steroids. Definitely not the type of show you can watch while also being on your phone. If you have to use the bathroom or go to the fridge, you better pause it! You have to constantly pay attention or you will end up lost real fast. I absolutely love it. Lots of mind blowing twists too.
Schitts Creek - I VERY rarely like comedies, my sense of humor is just different than most, but I’ve seen some of them and I’d say it’s one of the few I don’t mind.
both these are on Netflix

There are a number of really good shows that you haven't watched. They may not fit your preferred style but these shows are amazing:
The Sopranos
The Wire
Deadwood

stranger things: just give it 1 chance, you won't regret it

Mindhunter, Don’t f**k with cats, Back mirror, Castle rock. Really great shows i’d recommend, not sure if you have Netflix or Hulu but castle rock is on Hulu while the rest are on Netflix

Netflix
the Punisher
American Horror Story

Martial Arts:
Warrior is pretty good:
Into the badlands (already ended and I liked it a lot, haven't finished it though):
Don't know if i can really call a martial arts show but Kingdom is very good (already ended as well):

Thanks for the suggestions!
I’ve watched Stranger Things, and can’t wait for the next season! Bit disappointed with how Eleven got a nerf to her powers during the last season, compared to how powerful she was in season 2.
I wish we had more shows like it.
I watched into the Badlands and it was fun but lost interest. I need to give it another go, I just think I stopped watching it when they took a break.

Punisher is on my list to watch, I keep forgetting about it. Is Disenchantment the one made by the same people who make Simpsons? If so, I watched and lived it!
0 -
I forgot what the show called but the first lines are always ¨Hey Step bro¨ or ¨Can you come help me step bro, I´m stuck¨

Yeah disenchantment is the one made by the creators of the Simpsons

Ash Vs the Evil dead on Netflix.
It's really good. Ash has a really douchy tone for the first few episodes but it settles down into a really good character.
It's horror, supernatural, action and mystery. Words don't do it justice.
1 -
Dark on Netflix.
Supernatural.
2 -
I watched it as it came out. I loved it even though I don’t typically like gore very much. I really want them to introduce Pablo and Kelly into this game. It sucks how the show got cancelled.
0 -
Supernatural is entertaining, but it’s gotten too repetitive. I’m thankful they’re ending it. Not saying it’s bad, but I just enjoy things more when the story is completed.
I haven’t seen Dark yet, I heard it’s like Stranger Things but in a different language.

That explains a lot!

It didn't get cancelled did it. I thought Bruce just retired his role as Ash.
In case you didn't know there's an Evil Dead game coming out in a few years. It's supposed to be a fully immersive thing and will probably make a good game for the next gen Consoles.
1 -
Yeah, Starz cancelled it. I just wish they gave them one more season to better tie up the story.
I didn’t know there was a game being worked on, I hope they do a good job with it!

It was both
It got cancelled, and a couple days after that Bruce announced that he’s officially retired from playing the character.
1 -
It's not like Stranger Things in the aspect tacky and main stream.

Opinion you didn't know you'll have yet, Ash Vs The Evil Dead is better than Stranger Things.
0 -
No, I knew I liked Ash vs Evil Dead more. Stranger Things was fun, but I have always thought it was overrated. Out of a 10 I give it a 7/7.5. Lucy Lawless being in Ash vs Evil Dead made it a 8. With Bruce Campbell it went up to a 9, and Pablo and Kelly rounded it up to a 10.

I second Dark! Wish I would have had a notepad with me during my first watch because it got so confusing and mindblowing :p
also, imo the Witcher series is really awesome!
2 -
I only saw the first season of Stranger Things, but I don’t think it’s like DARK really. There’s no creatures like Demogorgon, it’s not that type of show. It’s a much more dramatic, complex, and twisted version of Back To The Future. What I really love is the replay value. I watched it a second time and I was almost just as entertained as the first, because I still found myself learning new things!
As @LaraVermillion said,a notepad may not be a bad idea lol.

Witcher is on my todo list. Bonus points for it since it stars Henry Cavill (Biggest Celeb Crush).
1 -
That’s rare for a series these days. Currently, the only show I’m willing to rewatch is 30 Rock. I’ll definitely give it a shot.
1 -
I guess I just assume everyone has seen it so I didn’t mention, but have you seen Breaking Bad? That is my favorite show of all time. Definitely a show I’ve seen multiple times.
Also If you have any interest in animal bites and stings, Kings of Pain on the history channel is highly recommended lol. Favorite current show, but only 8 episodes I think so you’d blow through it in a couple days. Hilarious, informative, and absolutely terrifying at the same time. These guys get intentionally bit/stung and rate the animal on a pain scale.

I’ve watched Breaking Bad up until Walter was losing his ######### to kill a fly in his new lab and lost interest. I’ve been meaning to get back into it.
I hate bugs, with a passion, so no, will not watch Kings of Pain. Well, I won’t say never since I do enjoy YouTube videos of Coyote Peterson (I think that’s his name).
0 -
Aaah yes the fly episode lol. Probably my least favorite episode of the series.
Yep this show is much like Coyote Peterson..except two guys doing it and just way better. And quite frankly, they are either significantly more tolerant of pain than Coyote, or he was putting on a show acting a lot of times. I will never watch him again after watching the Kings. There were a few that had Coyote screaming in pain that these guys reacted as if it was just a honeybee sting lol. They really make him look like like kind of a phony...or like I said, maybe they just have a much higher pain tolerance.

I almost forgot one of the best TV Shows I've ever seen. Can't say it's a Martial Arts one but involves lot of fighting, shooting and sex. The 3rd episode final fighting scene alone is almost worth the all show:
Summarizing the first episode, a guy gets out of jail in the beggining of the episode (afer 15 years in, if i remember correctly) and by the end of the episode he is the Sheriff of a town called Banshee.

Gonna go with the basic ######### answer here—JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is pretty lit. People say you have to watch parts 1 and 2 to understand part 3 which is where things get pretty Gucci, but I personally thought Phantom Blood was great.
0 -
First, I love your name <3
Im a full on weeb so I know of JoJo, it’s been on my to do list for a long time, just always feel there’s something better to watch, mainly because I’m not fond of the art style. Now, after watching Mob Psycho 100, I can’t judge JoJo, so I will definitely give it a try.
If you haven’t seen Mob Psycho 100, I highly recommend you do! It has some of the best character development from any show(anime or not) that I’ve watched, and fantastic animation quality. Reigen, his “master” is a hoot as well.
Never heard of Phantom Blood, but I’ll make sure to look it up.
My anime recommendations to you:
- Mob Psycho 100,
- Gantz (Dark, gore/blood, but the thrill makes it good)
- Darwins Game (Just started, but it’s really good)
- Rage of Bahamut (Really well animated) -Season 1 is better than two, but both are entertaining.
- Charlotte (prepare tissues for the end)
- Kanata no Kyokai (Will also need tissues and I think there is a movie that ties up the loose ends that you need to watch)
- That time I got reincarnated as a slime (More slice of life with action than your traditional action mainstream stuff, but the characters are great)
- The Rising of the Shield Hero
- Goblin Slayer (Need tissues for last episode for the happy tears)
- Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (Slice of Life)
- Darker than Black (Season two was Meh, seems like they didn’t know what they were doing with the story)
- Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit (Top 5 of my anime, fantastic animation/fights, good story and great characters.)
- Disastrous life of Saint K. If you love anime you’ll love this comedy and get all of the reference in this series.
- Gintama, Mainly comedy with lots of action, in my top 5 list of all anime

Sons of Anarchy. Best show you could ever watch. If you do decide to watch it all the way through (there's 7 seasons so it's perfect for binge watching) just remember the words "I got this".

Phantom Blood is the first part of JoJo.
I’ve been meaning to give anime a try (JoJo is the only one I’ve seen ever since I got bored of the “kiddie” animes like Pokémon), but I just don’t have the time. Can’t even spare a few hours to watch more JoJo.

Rick and Morty. Anime like my hero academia. Lastly Bones. I love em all

At the very least, please watch Mob Psycho 100

H E N R Y C A V I L L <3
have you seen him in The Tudors?

I have not, but I know he was in it. Is the show worth watching, or is it only eye candy? Not that I am against eye candy <.<
I hope I never meet him in person, I'd totally embarrass myself

Peaky Blinders, it's about a Birmingham gang in the early 20th century.

The collaboration with Ash vs Evil Dead on here got me into it. its well put together hero type story naritive with straight forward horror/gore elements. Otherwise if you've seen it, i agree with alot of the other suggestions on here.

Best show: TheEntityLeftHand on twitch.

The Santa Clarita Diet is a a good Netflix show. It's a dark comedy about "zombies" that has to do with one family's struggle through life because the wife was infected with a disease that makes her a cannibalistic human that can't die (unless shot in the head, obviously).

I enjoyed that show a lot. I was sad to find out it was cancelled.
Its now in the dust bin with Ash vs Evil Dead

Scream Queens, stream it on Hulu and you won’t regret it.
While you have a lot to catch up on, I recommend AHS. It’s a fun watch and I really liked the latest season, which has various nods to Slasher Movies.

I started watching Scream Queens and loved it but fell out of it when I found out it was cancelled. I live anything with Jamie Lee Curtis.
Whats AHS?
