  • Now that the cost to prestige is down from 50k to 20k, I wonder how that will affect the overall numbers?
  • I guess it depends on what one considers a "waste." They still have everything they've gained from all those hours of grinding. I don't really see it as a big deal since you're not losing any functionality in the game; the "prestige" number beyond level 9 is just bragging rights. They'll probably continue to play for many…
  • I think Deathslinger is actually pretty good, maybe in your "Alright" tier depending on perk loadout. Save the Best for Last can help mitigate Deathslinger's slower aim time by getting faster hits, and Pain Resonance helps with his slower speed. Dead Man Switch is also great on him.
  • I haven't tried it. Wraith is more about hit + run strategies, so it's probably why people don't use it often on him. But he's an M1 killer and could still benefit from it.
  • Huh, interesting. Do you find it is worth bringing on your build versus other perks? Or is it just kind of a fun perk to try out once in a while?
  • Maybe the same effect as current Ruin, but at a reduced regression speed (100 percent or 50 percent of normal regression or something). It would require allowing you to kick a gen if it's already regressing, though, otherwise it would nullify multiple perks like Pop and Call of Brine.
  • Used to use it with Deathslinger, but since the Dead Man Switch buff and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, that seems to be a much more effective combo for me, so I use that instead.
  • I figured they might get a normal hit then it will allow them to get a faster follow-up blink hit. But maybe I'm wrong.
  • Personally, I've just never really cared for Doctor's gameplay. He can be really oppressive, but I only really ever play him if I have a daily or Rift Challenge. Also, I hope comments that about how he isn't Spirit, Nurse, or Blight are meant to be ironic, because I never play those killers. Course, I'm also not a top MMR…
  • I play a lot of Pinhead and haven't ever really tried STBFL on him. That's a good point about chaining and then getting another hit. I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks.
  • I didn't think that was an unpopular opinion. I agree on Pyramid Head completely. Since I avoid getting hook-specific perks (Pop, BBQ, etc.) since they don't work if you cage someone, I usually go for other perks like Ruin, I'm All Ears, and STBFL.
  • Is it possible that you're a victim of your own success? As you play a character, you get better, you get more kills, your MMR goes up, you play against better survivors, they know how to counter the tactics you used in the past against survivors of lower skill levels, and the process continues. You may feel that you're…
  • The only killer I'd consider using it on is Blight, but he's so strong that he can afford that perk slot for Shadowborn. Every other killer I feel like the benefit of spending an entire perk slot on it isn't warranted. With the game becoming more difficult for killers seemingly daily....I don't have the luxury of spending…
  • The fact that, within the past few months, I can nearly consistently get an insta-queue as killer, no matter what killer I'm playing, relatively any time of the day when this never happened before... Whereas my 3 friends and I who queue as survivor have to wait sometimes 10-15 minutes to get matched with a killer during…
  • That's how I described him when I played him as well: molasses. However, you get used to it, and moving more quickly while aiming encourages staying in your sights around loops, and the reduced stun time when a chain brakes makes "Save the Best for Last" a much more viable perk. (for those who don't know, you can break…
  • As others have said, there's always ways to adapt. As soon as you tell yourself, "it's impossible to counter this killer", then you've already lost.
  • Will survivors completely stop running Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Iron Will, Sprint Burst, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time.... I see those every game as killer, too. Quid pro quo. :)
  • If I wanted to run two hexes, Thrill with Ruin was my choice over Undying and Ruin. Thrill actually gives you a chance to defend your totem. Undying just buys slightly more time. And Thrill worked very well.
  • I don't personally run Ruin most of the time anymore. I run Pop and/or Jolt. But Ruin is still an undeniably strong perk. If it weren't a Hex but maintained the same properties, *every* killer would use it. I agree, it isn't *as* strong since survivors are running boon totem builds, and also now that Thrill of the Hunt no…
  • One or even multiple instances of having tough matches doesn't negate the existence or utility of SBMM. There are a lot of factors that go into a match, and the tide can turn from killer to survivors multiple times. There are going to be games where you get 3 or 4 wins multiple times in a row, and there will be multiple…
  • Ruin is one of the strongest meta perks right now. You'll find it on every killer. And why is it a particular problem with Ghostface? Just run Small Game or Detective's Hunch and tickle those bones.
  • Only prestige if you want to for the sake of doing it, or if you really want the skins. The devs have said multiple times the claim that it boosts rare item drops in the bloodweb is basically false right now. Maybe they'll fix it someday, but I'm not taking all my characters to prestige 3 in hopes they will.
  • Thanks all. Yeah, the only killers I've really considered for Brutal are Trapper and Clown. For Clown, I'm thinking of trying Pop, Brutal, Deadlock, and Surge. I normally like Save the Best for Last on him, too, but it stinks always running into the obsession.
  • He's my main (still waiting for a Pinhead icon for the forums 😉) but haven't played him recently because of dailies, rift challenges, etc. That's something to consider. With a brand new rift, people will undoubtedly be playing different killers. This round it's Trickster.
  • The costumes are great, and even though I can't quite figure out how to use the Blight rush, it's cool that it's in there. It feels Halloweeny.
  • If the MMR system works as it should, you can choose to play however you want, and the MMR system will adjust accordingly. If you continue to camp and tunnel, you'll be put up against stronger survivors who can loop and stealth better. If you don't choose to camp and tunnel and you get 0K, then it will adjust, and you'll…
  • Behaviour reads the forums. I think being toxic in complaining about something they complain about over and over and over again isn't going to get the changes fixed any faster. It might do the opposite. If you owned a restaurant and you did what you could to make your menu the best, but one regular comes up to you and…
  • Then I better leave before I turn into them 😂
  • I get why people are upset about the NFT. I'm not saying all criticism is without merit. It just seems like there's complaining about every minutia within the game, no matter how insignificant. And people who have a rough game come in here and claim the game is broken rather than just taking the L and moving on.
  • There is a completely separate forum board for that. This is a "General Discussion" forum.
  • Sure, but is it better to say, "[enter political leader or country here] is absolute garbage! You used to be so much better! Now it's terrible! You ruined everything"? Or to give positive, constructive criticism that can actually be read and taken into consideration? If you had the chance to sit down and talk with your…
  • Then why spend time talking about a game you don't like, or at the very least, there are no or little positive things to talk about? It's a strange thing. I've played many games in my lifetime. When a game I like goes downhill or just changes directions, I leave and play something else. But it's like those who detest this…
  • Not sure I really recalled ever telling people that? Can you point out where I did?
  • I loved Deathslinger before. I still play him. I don't think he's unplayable now, but I'd be lying if I said that I have more fun with him now than before. I just have to relearn how to play him. But I have friends who say all the time they hated playing against the old Deathslinger, and it seems like it was a prevailing…
  • I play as killer primarily, and I play the same now as before. I don't see why the event changed anything. I think you may be taking anecdotal evidence as scientific/statistical evidence. The event just started. Give it some time before saying the Halloween event has made everyone more toxic than before. I'll add that…
  • It's all situational. The more you play killer, the more you realize this. I don't camp or tunnel every game, but if people make a huge flub and are downed next to someone already hooked with two gens right next to the hook, and I can hook this person close by? Sure, I'll proxy camp a bit so they lose at least one state.…
  • I just checked it, and I think you're right, it was a rift 1 reward. Yeah, probably won't get that again. Oh well. Thanks.
  • I never played killer because it was so stressful but I gradually learned over time to love playing killer. I mean, yeah, it is stressful. But I try to find new ways to have fun: Crazy trickshots on Trickster, Deathslinger, and Huntress. Cool use of bottles by Clown during chases. Awesome hook shots as Pinhead that down…
  • Yeah, it's possible. But it sounded like it was a system they were working on that was more complicated than simply allowing you to keep your items when you prestige. But that may be a side benefit to the new system? They've released so little information that it's hard to know what to do or not do.
