As was already stated, that is NOT what the devs said. It wast about what the entity could or couldnt take, it was about non humanoid killers being a ton of extra work. Demogorgon is still humanoid.1 -

Oh for sure, I myself quite enjoy him, and he can be pretty dang strong with the right build setup, but he's far from overpowered. I'm pretty happy with where he's sitting.1
