I had the exact same issue on that map, only difference for me was all four survivors spawned on top of it and it was cracked in about 20 seconds, it's actually ridiculous.1 -

As long as your friend knows that trapping the killer shack is always a good idea and putting traps in grass near pallets/gens then he'll do well as the Trapper. Always good to help out new peop…1 -

Trapper, he teaches new survivors that map pressure is important and also he's the most basic form of M1 killer so you can quite quickly learn how to chase and things like that.2
