No, they don't count nor were they supposed to last rift either. This was actually a "bug" where those quests were counting but somewhere towards the end of last rift, they fixed it so…2 -

Yup, I just tested this to confirm my suspicion. I did 3-4 challenges today with only 1 challenge left and my progress went from 46/48 to 47/48. It only changed after I was on the last challenge. 100…0
