Huntress wolf Mask better not be part of this cosmetic give away....

Well, that sure was a fun read, top quality troll posting/

Okay. New plan. Release legacy for everyone but the OP.

Again, it does not matter. Peanits claims the bloodletting shirt has monetary value because you had to use real money to get it. You also had to use real money to buy Dweard. Doesn't matter who you gave the money to, both ways (resellers not included), you had to give money to someone to obtain those skins.
1 -
You could play normally and earn event cosmetics.
1 -
the question is:
will they just be handed out for free?
or will they, like the other event items, be added to the store instead?
imo the ultra rares should be in the store too for 1080 auric cells.
that way players who had them earlier will keep them while others will have to pay something to obtain them, similar to other shop items.
just so players who bought them from the web wont feel like they just threw away their money for nothing.
1 -
the wolf mask, if I'm not mistaken, was earned simply by playing the game during the event. Hooking survivors was all it took.
you kick and scream over this being given away free despite how easy it was to obtain.
then you demand the single most impossible-to-obtain skins which had to be earned by being here from the very start of the game and an insane amount of work.
you're in no position to 'demand' anything and I'm glad these event skins are coming freely to other players (even if I have a few of them), if only to knock entitled people like you down a peg.
(honestly I'm glad for the free skins so we can start seeing more diverse characters on console.)

Please don't listen to people who are complaining, it's great that you guys decided to include new players in the events in a way with skins they never got!

This. I could careless about the cosmetics personally. But it's a nice thing to do.

There is a major difference between the two.
The blood letting shirt was something which people paid money directly to BHVR which was tied to a product they were offering.
Going to a show people paid an entry fee for the whole event. Developers typically would pay for the space to show off their products. The skins weren't tied to the ticket price so the skin itself has no monetary value. These offers are done by most devs with goodie bags etc as a just to come to my stand while you are here and let me promote my game to you and here is a free cosmeti. The code is in reality exchanged for giving them your time and not for any money changing hands like the blood letting shirt is.

I actually lost both the Songbird shirt and Hound mask. I got the Songbird shirt back, but never had a response about my Hound mask. At least it'll be returning to me.

Again again, it doesn't matter who the money goes to. Both skins have monetary value to it, without money, you wouldn't own them unless someone just up and gave one to you. That plain and simple.
You gave them more than your time for receiving bonuses, you had to pay to even enter the area to obtain said bonuses.
The whole reasoning behind this is, "to stop resellers/scammers". I see a bloodletting shirt on eBay right now, for sale. Not going to stop that? Double standards, but it's whatever. I have gotten my money's worth from the game.
1 -
At least give those of us that earned them Via play Bloody versions.
0 -
That would mean more exclusives, and they don't wanna do that anymore.
0 -
Then honestly it either needs to be some exclusives, or none at all. That includes the vaunted items they listed like the Trap Daddy shirt, and Legacy.
A bloody version would be an easy fix. Bloody up the hound mask, and bloody up the untamed donkey shirt.
3 -
nope. next question
0 -
I've seen you state before that you want that, and reasons have been stated why they won't do that.
0 -
Can you stop making these threads? omg.
2 -
I Cleary explained how they didn't.
One skin was linked to having to spend money while the other is linked to time spent.
If someone spent money on a show for one skin that is a choice they made themselves but it was not the intended way of receiving it as the money is paid for the whole event. The skin was marketed as a way to get people to their stand which as I said constitutes time as no money then changed hands. You cant put a choice someone makes onto BHVR if they paid soley for the free cosmetic as it's the same choice someone made with paying say $400 for a skin off say eBay.
Now the bloodletting was specifically tied to money. You had to buy something from thier own store so it was a purchase incentive.

A bloody version of the Howling Grounds items would be an excellent compromise.
The reason I latched onto Legacy was simply this:
Either we have Exclusives or we have none at all. No half-measures.
2 -
If you can't see the difference between bonus items given out indiscriminately at 3rd party conventions regardless of whether you actually own the game or not vs a bonus item given to you for directly and consciously supporting the developers, you've only your own mental gymnastics to blame.
2 -
Yea it's not like the Devs couldn't just deactivate said codes right? I mean tell people with codes they have 24 hours to use it, or loose it?
Somehow this also carries over to Cosmetics you got actually playing the game though at a specific time, to complete specific objectives in a limited time frame.
1 -
And prove you are really about stopping the Black Market.
If they were legitly for the person that bought them, then they would have been used by now.
0 -
Please stop complaining about something so petty as in cosmetics, if you're so bothered, go buy some of their merch for one of the Bloodletting shirt yourself, if you're gonna whine, make it constructive.
3 -
With Steam its all or nothing. Seen it happen before.
0 -
+1 Honestly yeah, regardless about how you feel about the cosmetics becoming free, if the reasons they're doing it for are true they should also deactivate the codes. Or at least tell us why they are not going to.
1 -
I literally do not understand what you are saying.
Can you elaborate?
0 -
think someone needs a time-out.
someone call Steve, isn't he the designated babysitter?
1 -
I have the Studded Jacket cosmetic, and I was furious when I first found out. But, granted, after thinking a little bit it's not that bad.

Various Skin codes are given away. Black Market takes off with people selling these items.
Devs give these items away for free to stop it. Fine.
Exclusive Event Items the Summer event, and Howling Grounds Items. No codes are given out, the items are unlocked via partaking in the in-game event. These items are given away too. Why? No one was selling the Huntress Wolf Mask, or the Donkey David shirts? I didn't see any songbird slip dresses for sale either.
So why? I point out they might as well give away Legacy too. Why? Because why not its just another "event" skin that shouldn't be special then.
They could have always just deactivated codes they hand out after a set timeframe where if they weren't used, they could not be used.
1 -
Yes. Yes they are.
0 -
If only there was some explanation, somewhere, explaining why these skins are being given away - That would clear up a lot of confusion!
2 -
This is really respectable and love you all for that decision! Did you (you and the team) thought about "locking" the event cosmetics behind shards? What are the pros and cons about that idea?
2 -
It's an option for sure, but not a great one for these purposes. The biggest reason for making them free is to combat the loss of progress some people are having. If you were one of the unfortunate people who lost those cosmetics and then had to pay your hard earned shards to get them back, you'd probably be pretty upset.
2 -
so do it also for legacy? im talking about ppl who lost their legacy and can proof it via steam achievments
0 -
Then nothing changes from it is now.
The reason why some exclusives still exist and will is due to how people got them and contracts.
Legacy is not the only one.
Bloodletting
Twitch/YouTube
Streamer personal ones
Deathgarden trapper and meg mask
Switch trapper skin
I understand what you are saying but I also understand their position. Some skins are better than none imo and most if not all of what we are getting were easy to achieve with a small amount of hours or through sheer luck. That is why I don't see an issue and I have around 90% of the skins we are receiving.
I also dont have Legacy even though I have played since early September 2016. I missed out due to not being able to play enough as the grind was truly insane.
They also commented on deactivating codes. They stated can't as it would deactivate all codes on steam.
2 -
I'm gonna wear that mask as a baby huntress and be proud of it
1 -
You could always stop replying to them.
I could care less about getting Legacy for free in honesty, the point of that is to show how stupid it is.
Either we have exclusives, or we do not. No Half Measures.

I've earnt everything exclusive since I started playing.
I'm more than happy that everyone is getting them now.
At the time it was cool to get them, and I still use a few of them whenever I play those characters, but other people having them isn't going to change the fact that I worked for them and that there's some meaning for them to me.
I hate exclusives, because most of the time the only value people see in them is the joy of making someone else feel like #########. "Oh, you have a nice Huntress mask, where can I get one?" "LOL ######### YOU, you can't cos you didn't play a poorly advertised game at a specific time!"
Long story short, for me, it doesn't detract from the value of what I earnt, it just means more people are able to use cosmetics that they like.
3 -
Bless your piggy heart ?
2 -
Tbf, Bloodletting and deathgarden mask aren't really exclusives since you can get them anytime you want if you buy them officially.
Legacy is veeeery controversial, the value of legacy is to high.
Twitch is for twitcher, doesn't make sense that a non-twitcher gets them. Same with the bhvr exclusive, it's only for bhvr employees. Doesn't make sense to give it out for non-employees.
Switch Trapper is an license issue, devs can't do anything here.

If I understood correctly you buy something from BHVR's merch store and then you get a code. Correct me if I'm wrong @Peanits
