Leave the game option
Why is still there?
Its gonna bait players after being outplayed or getting dedicated hit.
The problem with DC was is and will be is attitude and the easiness to start another game after confusion / tilt burst
Or in fact its there for quick leave in case of ??? home invaders / fire bursting / fsdfsedfws dunno father coming to my room at 3 am with electric iron cable. Choosing between leaving the game or afking will be the least of my concern.

Sometimes people do need to leave for legit reasons as unforseen circumstancesan always arise and its why the first punishment isn't that harsh.
You dont remove it just because some abused it. If someone gets baited and uses it then they will fall foul of the system which is what it is designed to do.

Because, if someone needs to leave for a specific, valid reason (like IRL things), the button will be there. If DCing isn't something that person does regularly, the 5 minutes won't affect them.

The Leave Game Option is there for the few genuine times that people do have something happening irl and need to get out of the game, or if they are stuck by a bug or something. The DC penalty is minor initially to not punish these people. Sadly, the actions of those that abused this feature is why we now need to have DC penalties.

if you have a home invasion, a fire or medical emergency, if you click that button you're a fool. just abandon the game. easier to answer to a question than to an automatic penalty.
The REAL reason it is there is if the survivor or killer is locked into the the geometry and thus locked in an infinite game.
