STOP FLAPPING YOUR ARMS ON THE HOOK!
Comments

Somehow this actually makes sense.
You're on a meathook. You flap with your arms. That's should hurt more than just hanging, shouldn't it?

I still use it for the same purpose. If I see the killer or they are proxy camping by moving the arms I am trying to shoo away my fellow team mates.
2 -
I pretend that I try to get off. But before the meter fills I stop. 😜

Sort of like "here I go....here I go.....wait for it.....just kidding"! 😄
2 -
It hasn't meant that for years. Read the post SLOWLY. The answers to both of your questions are in there. Yes, it makes noise, that is also noted in the post.

They get a green perk notification that I'm running Kindred actually.
2 -
My main grievance is being unable to unhook because they don't stop doing the animation.
2 -
No I don't care about the animation. I care that I literally cannot unhook because of it. If you approach them and they don't stop, you cannot save.

^ This. And with the new antifacecamp system, this is the best play: they'll be able to unhook themselves, but if you go in for the save their self-unhook meter stops filling up because there's a survivor nearby. So, a teammate flapping their arms means my friend and I stay on gens.

Chill, it’s really not that deep.
It’s just a silly/goofy aspect of the game. People take this game way too seriously so it’s refreshing when people do silly things like this as it’s funny and makes the game more fun… which at its core is what it’s meant to be (I know it’s a horror game but people wouldn’t play unless it was fun and gave them some level of enjoyment).
You’d hate being in a match with me as I do this a lot. I also chuckle to myself when I’m running kindred and can see the aura of a hooked survivor flailing their arms.

It'd be nice if we had some sort of arm flapping standard communication (i.e. rapid, short arm flaps indicates killer nearby), but we all know that's never gonna happen.
What I do is rapid flap if the killer is lurking, do nothing at all for the first ~30 seconds, long flap after like 30 seconds if I can see no one is coming for me (in solo, a lot of people assume someone else is going for the save). Of course that doesn't mean anything to anyone else at his point probably, but it's what I've always done.
Personally, I don't care much if someone flaps their arms.
Now if you want to know something that really annoys me, it's when I just ran across the map to save someone and then they kobe just as I arrive. Sure, they can afford to attempt a self unhook when rescue is imminent, but it's disrespectful of the time I just spent coming to get them.

Have you not heard? It was my understanding that everyone has heard.

I'm too Altruistic to not try. It's inside me.

It was the camp dance when I started playing but it's changed over time. It's now pretty much impatience to hurry tf up and unhook.

... I'm bored on hook, jeez
1 -
I don't do it when someone's coming to save, I do it to give signal that it's safe to save or to save before I go onto second phase. Also, I do it out of boredom of hanging around. I try to time my flaps so that my characters hands don't go fully down, it's really difficult. I'll try not to do it so much now I know it's a turn-off.

It's just when you see someone is right there or two feet from you. The flapping animation causes a slight delay in the unhook action from your rescuer.

Let me do my exercises, I can't skip my routine.

It would be really useful to come to a common census on that. I also remember some teammates that after the match told me, they were just bored.
We really need to know:
- flap if i should come
- flap if i should stay away
Maybe we should do a community voting or something.

That’s a great idea!
