Outpost out of genmat

So I just started playing and I made an outpost but after a while it says out of genmat and won't activate. Do I need to make a new outpost or something?

You can level its prestige and "refill" it that way (costs some of the orange credits though). Go into build mode on the outpost, hit escape, "prestige" tab at the top.
