Potential game breaking ranking system exploit

SO... I recently hit Master Rank and let's just say I noticed something very peculiar. whenever I entered a raid and subsequently abandoned that raid I still gain positions. this is repeatable and seems to actually affect my ranking among other players in the master rank.

I can simply enter a raid, then abandon it and I gain ranking. I do not gain points but I do go up on the ranks.

Frankly I do not know if this has an actual effect in the rankings but seemingly it does and if it actually is it's completely putting into question the rankings.
