I just have to say that this new trap is really fun to play with and against. I love the visual. I love the sound effect. I love the random angles. It is just a really well designed game addition imho. I hope they add some more trap mods related to lasers. Something that makes it so your traps or guards don't die to your own lasers would be nice. A fixed angle mod would be cool. I'd like it if they added a random color laser mod that cost 0 so I could make a disco room! They should make a guard with a laser next.

    the backfire is a necessary balance feature because of the bouncing combined with instant death.

    they need to give us the ability to color guards, traps, and their projectiles.

    You should try testing if Warmongers with the fire immunity mod will survive the laser beam.

    I gladly will when they return that mod back to the game. It would make sense to me if it worked but I think an equally valid argument could be made that lasers aren't fire.

    I love the lazer, but Im having a hard time utilizing it effectively. It has an incredibly long charge-up time. Even with the mod that makes it lock on faster its charge-up time is the longest in the game by a large margin.

    So far I've only been killed by one once too. Solid trap idea, would love it if it were more reliable though.

    the mod doesn't make it lock on faster, it makes it follow faster. counter intuitively it makes it take longer to fire.

    also get in touch with me and i'll show you some useful laser setups i've found.

    I've seen some really clever laser set ups. I think the hardest ones to play around as a raider is in a long shaft where the laser can barely be seen. The lasers have really far targeting so try to take advantage of that. Also, they aren't a trap that should be just used by itself. It is at it's strongest used as a zoning tool in conjunction with other traps. They are also pretty fun just spammed in a big room with lots of weird angles. I'll put a map up in social pretty soon you can try if you want.

    i like using 4 of them at an end of a hallway so they bounce all the way down into it using pinball. just need to use acid cubes at the end of the hallway as well so they dont clip the edges. as well as a cannon back cause he will usually shoot right into there as well and the lasers lock the raider in place for the bomb.

    they are a high difficulty trap to use but are fun. serves as a distraction/zoning role for me and i love them for it.
