When it was clear all was lost, the last members of the Cult withdrew themselves into the cavernous storerooms just as their victims had done.
Only when they had made their way fully into the vast storeroom did the Cult of the Lost detonate a massive bomb. The ensuing blast was not large enough to destroy the facility but still powerful enough to rupture the vast tanks of ancient chemical effluent that were stored underground.
A hundred years of toxic effluent erupted into the storeroom, flooding the entire facility in seconds and killing everyone instantly.
