I attempted to recreate this scenario in one of my outposts by building it block for block, then ran it (test from here, and test from beginning) and in the 12 times I ran it, this scenario NEVER happened. I'm beginning to think something else is pulling invisible strings here that determines when/if the terms of probability are "affected" or swayed in favor of "a Good Show" for those replay moments....

    Spring load and chaos bombs can do amazing things. I went through and did a social raid to see if there were any other factors like a second split path for the bombs to travel but there wasn't anything like that. It really was just one bomb that bounced perfectly along the path. You're right. You could set off that trap a dozen times and not get the same result. You just got "lucky".
