Rejoice! Long over do, but nonetheless I am very happy about this and I’m excited to play on the go, on my couch, bed, or bathroom! (Maybe even at work 😉 )
-
Make sure Easy Anti Cheat is installed to your Steam library, and you have the Proton Experimental compatibility tool selected
-
Yeah, it’s the same source. Not enough for me to fully believe just yet lol. Hopes are high!
-
I'm not believing anything until I see it with my own eyes.
-
@Mandy can you confirm it’s for good?? If so I’m so happy
-
Still playing right now :) but let us all understand, if this stops working again, BHVR is intentionally turning it off
-
Thank you for the info, but I can’t bring myself to go all in just yet, otherwise I’ll be extra disappointed if/when they disable it again.
-
60FPS at medium settings, haven’t dropped below 57 FPS and no lag spikes or anything. Super smooth.
-
It’ll probably abruptly stop again, but this is a nice change. I’m happy to be playing this on my Deck and not at my PC. Much more enjoyable.
-
That’s what I said, it’s a DBD management issue not a BHVR issue in and of themselves as a company. DBD team needs to get their stuff together and start getting their cash cow fed again before it dies off. Fix the Steam Deck compatibility, this is exhausting and unreasonable at how aloof they are to a clear call from the…
-
@Mandy Is this something we can consider a possibility perhaps around the time of the anniversary? It seems like a Dead by Daylight management issue rather than a BHVR issue as Meet Your Maker is fully verified, even was promoted as being Verified on the Steam Deck (seen here…
-
There’s speculation they signed some contract with Epic, which wouldn’t surprise me. BHVR is lucky Starbreeze chose them to develop their game, and now they act snobby and entitled.
-
Dev update, no mention of steam deck
-
Validate game files via heroic
-
DBD will be dead by the time it’s implemented as a last attempt to save the game rather than using it to bolster player numbers.
-
A whole market has opened that doesn't even require BHVR to port the game to this new console, but yet it still doesn't make it (yet). Surprising given it's on literally everything else.
-
Maybe I’m just dumb, but my experience is always inconsistent. Sometimes it boots and other times it doesn’t, so I’m not sure what the issue is for me, but imo it’s just not worth it.
-
Thank you for checking it out. I'm honestly not even mad anymore as much as I am just genuinely sad about the fact that I can't enjoy it on my Steam Deck. I've been spending less time on my PC, so the Deck has become my lifeline when it comes to game as of lately. I do truly hope BHVR will step it up and enable it to work.…
-
There was an update today, not about eac, but never know and I’m just hoping at this point
-
Anyone able to test the new patch? Just in case..
-
Is this something we can still expect to happen? Or is it completely off of BHVRs radar now
-
I, along with many, don’t want to use the jank heroic work around. I’ve played on it numerous times and it’s inconsistent whether it will boot or not, it lags, and in the end of the day it’s simply bs that we need to work around a multi million dollar enterprise due to laziness. BHVR should just add deck support native,…
-
Good choice. I think they’ve given up on Linux support.
-
I read through the post about their plans, apart from the roadmap, and I am beyond disappointed they didn’t address Linux at all. Guess we’re all chopped liver guys n gals
-
They won’t address steam deck directly more than likely, it’ll be masked as Linux support when and if they do.
-
Go figure, was wondering if anyone would test it as I’ve now removed DBD from my deck. Thank you for testing this patch!
-
Go to heroic, then dbd, then the three dots or lines (can’t remember), then there should bud a drop-down and one of the options should say force game update if available and you press that
-
Same here. Hope was restored when it worked for all of 3-5 days or whatever. I’ve since lost hope.. again. The way they (don’t) interact with the community is just disgusting. Spent over a thousand dollars on this game with chapters and cosmetics, and not to mention the nearly 3k hours I’ve put into it too. It’s sad that…
-
They won't because paying customers mean nothing to them.
-
Good luck, BHVR is as silent as a mouse when trying to get any information from them.
-
-
My nvidia graphics card on my PC performs without issue. Maybe someone will come up with a solution for the lag spikes for heroic.
-
Lag spikes happen with DBD on Heroic, it's a common issue that unfortunately won't be resolved until the Steam Deck is supported by BHVR themselves.
-
You reiterated exactly what I said about EGS cross progression being enabled, so I’m not going to dive into it further. I'm not trying to do anything other than advocate for Native Steam Deck Support. They've promised this for at least almost a year now and have yet to deliver.
-
Heroic or Steam?
-
They did not give us what we want. We want Steam Native Support, not a crummy work around that lags. Apparently you don't follow DBD much because cross progression has been re-enabled. If we were just "content" with everything BHVR gave us, DBD would have flopped years ago. It's people like us that push the issues are what…
-
It did work. Flawlessly. I don’t think making excuses for them is going to help us get Steam Deck support. They need the pressure from the community to get things done
-
Being it’s an error when connecting to the server I have reason to believe it is server sided. You can get into customs but after a while it times you out, so I just think they need to flip a switch on their end especially being it did work before.
-
I think there’s a chance that Heroic is able to trick the game into thinking you’re on a true PC, whereas Steam knows you’re on a Steam Deck. Of course nothing certain and I very well could be grasping at straws, but in my mind it’s what makes sense..
-
I believe BHVR added a server side block. Otherwise what else could it be
-
I’ve been messaging and reaching out to anyone and everyone. BHVR won’t even give us the time of day to respond, and honestly it’s extremely frustrating being they’re so big on having an accessible game on any platform, they continue to neglect support for the Steam Deck.
-
Until BHVR adds Steam Deck support, we’re stuck with this. Heroic is imperfect when it comes to DBD and stuttering is normal for DBD on heroic.
-
BHVR still won't pop in here and say "Yo, this is what happened". Stadia sunset is THIS month, and BHVR has said nothing regarding the Steam Deck.
-
Still not working as of todays bugfix.
-
We had it.. and then we didn't have it. I don't know why someone from BHVR can't just pop in and say "This is what happened" - like get off your high horses and just TALK TO US!
