These challenges are going to ruin the game.

This game had a simple formula. Killer wants to hook survivors, survivors want to do gens, assist other survivors, and escape. It worked well, that is why so many of us are still here, many for hundreds or even thousands of hours.

These challenges change everything. Survivors racing each other for unhooks. Survivors doing gens while ignoring other survivors. Survivors going out of their way to get the killers attention to get pallet stuns. Killers playing killers they are bad at. Killers letting survivors struggle free because they can't make it to the basement. Killers ignoring gens so can get their pallet breaking quota. These are just a few examples.

The point is these challenges will become people's top priority and anyone who wants the play the game as it was made is SOL. I have had enough games where someone ruined the whole thing to complete a daily, the Archives turn it up to 11.

We all wanted more objectives cause of the monotony of the game, but it's true, you cannot have notmal games now, we're all trying to do the challenges.

I'm gonna guess this is gonna pass after the challenge making fever decreases, but for now it's a little bit annoying.

I actually try to be part of the solution and play normally whyle making challenges on the way (I don't run around scaring crows, I just play normally and the challenge gets done in the way), but I don't know how this can be made with tougher challenges

@ProfessorDunwich @SpaceCoconut I called that one when it was on PTB. Not only did I see it happen even then on enough streams, big and small, but in my own matches on PTB as well. I even posted that prediction in my replies to some threads. I'd seen it happen enough, too, in other games that implemented Challenges with a Battlepass.

@Boss SOL is short for ######### Outta Luck.

    Unfortunately I can't disagree with you. I would love to but I can't 😕.

Sounds like a typical knee-jerk doom and gloom reaction. These challenges are no different from dailies. Except, they can only do one at a time. While some may end up getting themselves killed (and others) in the process, the majority are going to play as usual. I did a couple of challenges from the rift, but I didn't go out of my way to complete them. If they happened, they happened. Comparing the real thing to the PTB experience is ridiculous. Of course everyone on there is going to go crazy as they had less than a week.

People already did this to complete dailies. Granted it does increase the number of times this will happen.

I noticed a high amount of hook suicides yesterday as well. Not your typical ones, where someone gets downed immediately. I'm suspecting they did it because they finished their challenge. I expect this to only worsen.

YOU did not go out of your way to complete them. I'm pretty sure you are the exception. I think a large amount of the player base will engage in the challenges. Even if you did not want to, it is tough to avoid when you are having them shoved in your face. They cover up the after game chat. Whatever challenge someone activates will be their top priority for the overwhelming majority.

The real problem I see is people becoming overly focused on the challenges. I am actively seeking them out, however, I will still continue the match after it's clear I'm not making that particular goal. The amount of DC's I've been seeing makes me feel like I'm in the minority in that aspect.

I love these challenges. Killers try to do weird ######### and act in another way sometimes. Survivors do the same. Tge game is more fun for me now.

Meh, to each their own but they break up the monotony of the typical game and adds in different ways to play....to a slight degree. Played both sides yesterday as did my GF each of us watching each other and neither of us had any bad matches. Time will tell, but bad luck on your part *shrugs*

These challenges will definitely ruin the entire experience of this game. I've played 10 games so far and I can tell the gamestyle of both sides feel different. Killers play somewhat more aggressive and survivors more dumb.

I am not actually paying much attention to the challenges, I've managed to do few without even focusing on doing them (except opening 3 chests in a single game, which wasn't that hard since I am used to using P.Instincts). But other than that, I just play normally, and he way I am used to. But if games will keep on being less fun I'll just have to stop playing cause challenges and battlepass just aren't well suited for this game....BP can work with Apex or Fortnine where you're facing TON of players so doing challenges can be done while playing normally...but not in DBD

Personally I don't really mind (at least the Tier 1 challenges) as I'm the kind of player that would randomize my loadout and stuff if I start to get bored, so having specific little challenges that might require a different playstyle is fine. But then again I'm not a player that's extremely competitive and concerned about consistency. I've seen some people have fun with the "scare crows" challenge too, names like "crow disturber" and a Myers that protected a rock where 3 crows landed while a survivor tried to run over to scare them before him when they landed 😄

Only thing I'm worried about is that if the later "do in one match" challenges get too ridiculous people might just DC/suicide if they realize they won't be getting that do X gens solo or trap Y survivors in one match challenge to move onto another game, sorta like how survivors would just die on hook after sucking the flowers dry in that one event.

Personally i already felt i'm underperformed in matches with challenges in mind, whether it's survivor or killer

So i already not care about the challenge, because my main purpose to play is for fun

Didn't even think of that one. Strongly suspect people will DC when they won't complete their challenge. That combined with no consequences for DCing is a bad combo.

I try to play well for the most part as survivor when I do the challenges. As killer, I don't care, I'll do whatever I want. If I want to chase crows around Lery's like a two-year-old, then that's what I'll do. I've never had survivors complain when I meme around, pretending to work on gens as Pig; this is no different.

This why players can't be trusted to play properly and any wiggle room the devs give them will be used. If there was a killer who went around with an instadown sawed-off shotgun that is all we would see.

Other people have had similar experiences. Your personal experience is not unanimous.
