Disconnected from Host
This seems to be happening more and more. It's so annoying. It's bad enough that you have to wait forever just to find a match and all of the waiting and loading screens and you get into a game and poof disconnected from host.

On the PS4 console btw. I don't know if it's the same for Xbox or PC

It's the same for Xbox. It's because the killer left before the game began I assume. Same happens when a Survivor leaves the game during the loading screen. It's really annoying when it happens.

The killer was in game but the game was really laggy.

Sounds like his connection was being run on a potato and you lost connection to him/her then. That's the huge issue with the game being essentially run on the killer. If they have a bad connection, it will affect everyone else in the game
