I think Surge shouldn't have the basic attack requirement
I don't really see how making Surge to work with chainsaws, hatchets, Ambush, Corrupt Purge or Shred would be overpowered. This perk is already limited by the range and the cooldown, it doesn't need to be specifically made weaker for certain killers.
After all, they buffed Infectious Fright and Dark Devotion to work with all the attacks and that make them much better than before, but still not too strong. I am sure that even with this buff, Surge still wouldn't become meta.

I completely agree, I think it will happen eventually but not right now as it is still a fairly new perk, came out this chapter. I don't play Huntress but I can already feel the satisfaction of a long range Hatchet activating Surge 😌

I find it bizarre that they gave a Killer that has a damaging Killer Power a perk that only cares about basic attacks.

Ye. They buffed it by increasing the duration and removing the cooldown instead. Even though it doesn't work on powers it's still a decent perk now.

Dark Devotion only works with Frenzy strikes, but I think that's because their power is mostly nonlethal.

I agree with this. No cooldown or restriction on hit type. If they made those changes, it would be playable. Not broken. Not overpowered. Just playable. I was pretty excited about this perk when it was announced. The reality didn't live up to the hype though. Needs a buff.

I think removing the basic attack and cool down would be fine. Not like it should effect every generator survivors are working on. If it did then it would honestly be the fault of survivors on working with X amount of gens that close.

If you run it on Spirit, you get a lot more mileage out of it.

They should make it, that if you run PGTW with Surge, and PGTW is activated, the next time Surge would come into effect all gens within the radius get the 25% regression.

With that lengthy cooldown it should trigger on any sort of down, not just from basic attacks.

I mean, unless they do something about gen times it would be a good thing. I didn't say all gens should regress only the ones within radius.
The problem with this game is, as long as people will play it any side, survivors or killers will find something to complain about. And frankly i don't fault them. The game has been out for almost 5 years now and all the money they get for cosmetics could easily last them long to fix things
I just think that they don't care.
