Anubis - The Protector of the dead

He is involved in Egyptian history but in the last 30+ years Anubis has been included quite massively all over pop culture.

There was a sound file leaked which sounded exactly like knocking followed by some looping breathing. The knocking being the knocking on the sacophogus (from inside?, Or possibly outside?)

My theory is that the presence of Survivors disturbed the sarcophagus of the dead and now the protector is here to bring them back to rest.

The next chapter doesn't come with a map however this Anubis geezer actually kinda fits the temple of purgation kinda well, especially the underground main building.

I think Anubis would be a great killer in dbd because he is bae and charms of him in game would look pretty.

Also there are tons of cosmetic variations that could be made with him.

The knocking indicates disturbance hence why Anubis is mad.

Also I've been wrong before with my predictions so don't expect anything I say to be correct.

What is your opinion of Anubis?

Look back on the Steam forums around the time Huntress was being teased.

    Does he Bork at survivors?

That would be pretty cool to see. After the Demogorgon became a killer, we could in theory see anything at this point. I can't even begin to imagine what the power of Anubis would be, but I can tell you right now I'll flip my lid if we get an indoor pyramid map :)

I just looked up that steam forum and I see no reason why Anubis would be out of reach of dbd

Anubis is the protector of death not a powerful god according to some weird website I went on. Seth is the god of death and Teal'c is God of war.

Anubis is in smite so him killing Survivors is fine.

"Anubis himself is the Egyptian god of death. While he thematically fits in DbD, I don't think the Entity could force a god to stay and take part of the twisted game. If anything Anubis would try and free the souls and lead them to the true afterlife instead of being trapped in the fog.

However, priests wore Anubis masks during the mummification ritual called "Opening of the Mouth". You can see tattered pant legs and bare feet in the silhouette, so imagining ancient tattered priest robes might not be too far off. The line from the back of the head flows smoothly to the shoulder, so it really could be a headdress of some kind. If it were a bunny mask I think the neck line would be more defined and the broken ear might look tattered rather than broken.

The weapon might have been withheld from the image to help with the mystery. I don't think we would get a killer without an obvious weapon, unless he's using a small knife or scalpel used in embalming. I don't think that's the case since a small knife like that wouldn't cause enough damage to injure a survivor enough to be put into the dying state after two slashes. Edit: It also wouldn't be very customizable because of its size..."

This was a comment made by @SpaceCoconut on the steam forums before Huntress came out. I wonder whether his opinion has changed.

I mean we have the demon prince Demogorgan why can't we have a little sleepy doggo with a scythe or spear or something.

Also I think Anubis would have an insane amount of cosmetic variation.

I see they quickly shifted this to fan creations ๐Ÿง could they be...hiding my theory from the others๐Ÿค•. If I'm somewhat right that's good enough for me.

This game lends itself more to the aesthetic of Slashers than that of mere killers.

Anubis isn't really a slasher. In fact, he's a god of Judgement, it would be odd if he just started murdering people.

Maybe a mummy killer would be more suitable, but still.
