Taking a step back to think about this 2.1 patch

I'll try to keep this precise and simple as some of you will try to twist it around to suit your own agenda.

OBJECTIVITY

Use this.

I play both sides. More killer than survivor, but I do play both. As killer I want control and power... I want to be the deciding factor if I'm good enough (I am very good).

As survivor, I want an intense, and challenging situation where I'm lucky in a way to get out alive... and I only escape if the killer makes a mistake.

It has been that killers only catch a break if survivors mess up. That isn't how this should be. 2.1 changes this. 2.0 started it, and 2.1 encapsulates this.

In truth... survivors have ran the show for over a year. Now... they are getting other options. Your Sprint Burst, Self Care, Decisive Strike and Adrenaline perk set is going to be shook around because of the SB nerf. All exhaustion perks got nerfed.

These perks never should have been this "get away" for free card as it has been.

The pickup time is quick for killers. And flashlight saves are tough. 3 sec might be too fast, maybe 3.5? 4.3 was a bit long and 3 seems slightly fast. I mean, I'll be okay with keeping it at 3 I guess though.

The BNP nerf was harsh. As someone that hates BNP mostly... this was a hard nerf. I saw keep it to where it is, but make it 25-40% of the gen instead of the 15-25?

(Yeah, that's a killer main asking for survivor buffs) Why? Because I'm objective. I see things clearly for what they are.

Why do most people use sprint burst if they have it? Why?

I'll tell you why. Outside of low ranks, this perk is used a bunch. You can be wherever. Normally on a gen, killer approaches, and you get to run away for free basically and this gives you 10-15 seconds before they get to you again. Once they get to you, if you're any decent at looping you can drag it out for another 20 seconds at least. Then run away to the next loop. And guess what? Your sprint burst is just about or already coming back... so you get more distance.

You get to the next annoying area... drag it out for around 20 seconds or so... and then you're almost ready again for that 3rd sprint burst (40 sec cooldown at tier III). You might get hit here at this point unless you're very good. YOu'll get a damage burst out, and then eventually get that 3rd burst...

During this time around 120-140 seconds have passed and if the survivors are optimal, or not stupid, that is at least 2-3 gens done.

And the killer has gotten 1 down and 1 hook at best. That's it.

So you've got 1 person on the hook... and the survivors at best have 3 gens to go, but usually 2.

There's 3 other survivors, and if they are SWF, then 1 only is coming for the unhook, so if you "camp" like all survivors complain about, you'll get the 1 kill probably IF THEY Don't have Borrowed Time. The other 2 survivors will just finish the last bit.

Best case scenario if you camp hardcore... you kill 1 person, and the gates are powered. You now have 20 seconds to get to a gate and get someone else.

Very best case? For camping? 2 people dead and a safety pip. If you camped. So camping isn't this amazing thing for killers. Yeah it sucks, but survivors have more control if they camp overall. It just sucks for whoever is on the hook for the camping.

If they don't camp... the survivor gets them off the hook, you might get someone else down, they are still on comms and around and around we go.

My point? Sprint Burst was overpowered in the wrong hands. In a survival horror game? It wasn't supposed to be like this. You can no longer connect sprint bursts together in order to be a moron. You are not entitled to survive.

As a survivor myself... I expect to go down after a minute or so against a good killer. Yeah it sucks, but I don't expect to escape. The killer runs the show, and if I'm sneaky enough and lucky enough, I'll get out. It is the survivors responsibility to escape, not so much the killer's job to "kill" them all.

More pressure should be placed on 4 people than the 1. And this 2.1 patch does help that, and its a wonderful step in the right direction.

Adapt. The meta has changed a bit. When the DS rework and the hatch close changes come, this game WILL BE BALANCED i think.

Think outside the box. Just because you die more now, or because you have to change up your comfortable setup doesn't meant he patch sucks. It means you do.
