Spine Chill now works unconditionally?
First discussion by the way, but yeah as the title states, Spine Chill just works all the time now? Because T1 Myers was the only dude who could trump Spine Chill (to my knowledge) and now he no longer can. I just want to know if that means that Spine Chill has no counters now. Because that would be quite epic.

It works against all killers now, yes.

Yeah. Alert became even more unreliable while Spine Chill, an already good perk became a lot more useful. Now that more people will be running Spine Chill, just wait until the wave of complaints come for it.

people will complain about any perk hell I bet people complain about plunderers

They do actually. Remember the whole "Plunderer's gives people too many keys!!!" arguments. Funnily enough, I just made a complaint about it, but not really about that perk itself, but more about my lack of having it on many characters due to prestiging, plus needing it for a certain mission that I've done before without the perk.

Yeah unfortunately people will complain, though I'm not sure why. Spine Chill's description literally says it's supposed to trump ANY stealth ability, and since it doesn't read auras (as Evil Within 1, I'm pretty sure, only says it trumps aura reading abilities), it should have been working unconditionally forever.
But c'est la vie...

It didn't always trump Myers though, and better reasoning is, aura reading for survivors has now become less reliable. People don't like to take perks that are unreliable, because it's always better to take something that will benefit you always. So now people use less aura reading perks, and instead take Spine Chill, something that is better than aura reading. It's always going to be reliable, especially now that it works on Myers. Killers are going to be upset because they got a bunch of perks nerfed, but now people are using the better perk because the other perks that weren't as good got nerfed, and Spine Chill was already a strong perk. I've already seen some people saying that Spine Chill was too strong in certain posts talking about the perk(usually about how it doesn't work on Tier 1 Myers anymore, but they were talking about overall, not just against tier 1 Myers).
This is basically going to be the exact same thing as the other things people have gotten nerfed over the years that created different metas, like the no healing meta. Something gets nerfed, people adapt to a stronger way of playing, and now people will complain about the new meta they just created with their calls for nerfs to the less powerful thing.

I've seen people complain about Spine Chill a few times. Be it only a few people. On the forums and in game. Those who have messaged me post game (even if they ended up sacrificing me) have called me a no skill noob for using it, though they never express why, and would either insult me when I asked for clarification or they just leave the chat or block me on PS4.

Except you forgot about Mirror Myers.
Yeah, but it's the only thing people can think of to nerf survivors left that I can imagine, aside from keys. Everything else has been nerfed so there are very few things left to complain about. I'm gonna be honest, I think Spine Chill is probably too good. I've hidden so well from killers by knowing they're coming. That said, all other ways to detect a killer coming are so BAD now that I feel it needs it's place at this level of power. I don't feel like tier 1 Myers should be hit with Spine Chill though, especially Mirror Myers. He's already only 105% move speed, AND has a decreased lunge in tier 1. He's going to need some form of help in tier 1 if Spine Chill is going to work on him.

Mirror Myers can be countered though...Just get in a place where you can see him coming from either side. He only has a higher chance to win on Lery's, it's not really OP. Lower lunge and technically the slowest move speed in the game(aside from Nurse but she doesn't walk/float much anyways) are a really big hindrance to him alone, let alone with Spine Chill, which completely removes his ability to play the game with those addons, due to being unable to increase his speed, or lunge range. Mirror Myers' only saving grace is his ability to surprise survivors. If they know he's coming he will have no way to catch up to them and if they get to a loop he's pretty much going to have all gens pop before he catches the first survivor he finds with Spine Chill.
Yeah but that's why Alert is so unreliable now. That's all it really takes.

ive had someone on my team complain about me running plunders and ace in the hole because “im a claudette and i should be running healing perks” ...lol

Those disadvantages become FAR MORE SEVERE against someone with Spine Chill to the point where they will almost never catch that survivor. Earlier you said "no killer should have a strategy that cannot be countered in any way whatsoever". Spine Chill not working against Mirror Myers is nothing like that, and I would say that Spine Chill working against Mirror Myers is FAR MORE like that to survivors. It's FAR too much of an advantage to someone who already has so much working against him that he needs a map offering to succeed in most cases. People don't run Mirror Myers because it's strong, they run it because it's fun.

Bro, what the hell lol. I know what they mean but what the hell do they mean lmao.

I used to be an avid user of spine chill. It was funny to have it never go off and I'd just be sitting there wondering where the killer is... then I hear the Halloween tune go off and realize my mistake. The change isn't too crazy but I don't feel like it was necceasry. Myers was already undetectable in tier 1, so the undetectable status effect making him more detectable is honestly hilarious.

Yeah when I would be in games and not hear any terror radius and not get an activated Spine Chill for a whole minute, I would have an adrenaline spike I would instantly start carefully listening for mask breathing and frantically look around the fog to spot the Myers that was almost certainly stalking me. Even though Spine Chill should have always worked against everything regardless, as its description says. But yeah the fact that Undetectable now makes him detectable is funny af.

Spine Chill has the easiest counter ever. Moonwalk or stafe towards the gen and it never lights up.

But will the average, or even an above average/adept killer do that literally ever? Most likely no because obstacles exist and it's wasted effort, and they would never know if a survivor even had it during the game until afterwords. Also Spine Chill isn't only used for being able to get a head start at running away/hiding. That just happens to be a use for it. It's also used for hiding spots in general (as to maneuver around to not be seen) not only at gens. It's also good because of its action speed boosts, especially when getting last second heals in or last second exit gate openings in. T1 Myers countered it because he could do everything normally and never activate it.

FYI, it says spine chill only works with killers that have Heartbeats and that are undetectable, myers has NO heartbeat AT ALL in tier 1, but it will work if hes in tier 2 - 3.

It doesn’t say that though...? It says Spine Chill trumps any Killer’s stealth abilities. Plus in one of the Patch Notes (two patches ago I think) it says specifically that Myers T1 no longer affects Spine Chill and Premonition and they will activate as normal now.
0 -
Hm, weird, I don’t know why then because my spine chill doesn’t work against Myers but Premonition does
0 -
They do, "way too many keys with plunderer".

You have a bugged game then lol. Both Premonition and Spine Chill are supposed to work on every Killer now, no matter what, including T1 Myers.
