This game true “POWER ROLE”
I recently keep having this Debate with a Friend who thinks that survivors are the “POWER ROLE”.
My friend is mostly survivor main, but she does play killer too. I play killer and survivor as equally.
Now I keep saying the only “POWER ROLE” in this game is RNG.
This game is like a coin flip. It’s an asymmetrical game and things are bound to be unbalanced base off of who is playing and how the players uses them things to their advantage. You’re either gonna get a good games or a bad games. Whether you’re killer or survivor. How you play the game and the unknown factor of RNG can always affect how your games play out.
Her argument was if you were to put a survivor and a killer with no perks 1v1 the survivor is always going win.
I say this is not true as again their are different unknowns variables that can happen within a chase. You could have a goat survivor and a goat killer versing each other, but all it takes is a simple mind game and/or a mistake from one sided for the other to gain the upper hand . There are potatoes out there not every survivor is godly.
She then makes her next statement that when she plays killers she’s always being bullied as killer she getting looped for a long time and always stunned. Which is why she starts to tunneling and camping because Survivors are “overpowered”.
Here is the thing we both play Legion
(She’s rank 12 // I’m rank 5)[Killer] (She get green Rank survivors /I get Red and Purple Rank survivors.) (She usually gets nobody or 1k-2k /I Usually get 3k-4k if I was trying and this is without tunneling.) (She uses Ruin and NOED as main perks/ I Don’t use Ruin and NOED as my main perks.)
Again this is all RNG. Sometimes you just get survivors who can’t run for more than 20secs in a chase or survivors that can run, but the killers knows how to cut chases quickly.not to mention items offering and addons
I’m good at running as survivor and this helps me to cut off chases as killer easier where she’s not that great in chases, she is decent, but She more of the immerse gen jockey.
You have to predicted/guess the survivors next move sometimes while you’re in chases to understand what loop can be endless loops and waste time, recognize safe pallets and unsafe pallets so you don’t have to break ever single pallet and you can’t just follow that one good survivor all game hoping to eventually catch them as they will waste a lot of your time.
I could keep going on why, but this is long as is.
So what do you think?
Is Killer , Survivor, or RNG the “POWER ROLE”

You could take a look at the survival rates, maybe that sheds some light on the topic and might get you closer to an answer. But I like that you're bringing in RNG as an alternative answer.
Regarding your friend: just do a 1vs1 with her in KYF.
Also, when you both are in a trial and most of the pallets are gone on a map, get in a chase and bring the killer to her and watch the drama unfold. Now she can show you that she's playing the power role.

Survivors are the power role if they all 4 have brains and know how to loop but both sides would have equal chances if the killer belongs to top 5 strong ones

There was a poll recently about that or what side balance is inclined to and most people out of purple/red ranks all said survivor.

Survivors are by far the power role in this game regardless of what rng you happen to get.
I play both sides at rank 1 with 4k hours.

From what you say, it seems your friend should get better at killer to have proper opinion on the matter.
Anyway I agree, this game is too randomized to be able to define a power role, especially when considering maps and spawns. Being skilled includes somewhat overcoming this, but when you're unlucky you're unlucky.
