You know the community is diverse. People complaining about one thing aren't the same about the other. Besides that people are more complaining about the uneffected Event cosmetic than the ones abused by scammers.

The predatory bit is the prompt that tempts you to spend $1 per Rift level instead of taking the time to grind it (which itself is a very insane slog, based on the math that has been put forward by other forum users). These kinds of systems tend to prey on the most vulnerable audience members.

I mean diverse in the sense, that people who complained about the rift aren't necessarly the same people who complained about the code giveaway exclusives.
And yes, black market deals for these codes are heavily predatory. But that doesn't mean that the Rift isn't just because it's designed seemingly more open. We've talked about the problematic aspect of it in several threads.
