So uhm... Cursed Legacy... Rin as Survivor? :D
I mean... The glass shards are literally being reverted... And Rin DID fall through glass... So...

Possibly but i doubt it. It wouldn't make much sense that the spirit is chasing herself around. If there's a survivor it will probably be some random person that was near the area.
7 -
How would it not make sense? There is no time in the entities realm.
Also doesn't make much sense when there are 4 billy bois in the lobby or that you suddenly become a one hit just because Myers has been looking at you for a few moments.
1 -
ahhhh I hope so. She would be such a cute survivor! :-)

No time doesn't mean no paradoxes. :P
The rest can be explained as gameplay mechanics trumping flavor. There is no gameplay mechanic reason to make Rin a Survivor when she is already a Killer.

No time doesn't mean no paradoxes
That means rin can be both killer and survivor.
The rin that is the killer is not really rin, arguably, as all the spirit is is rage and revenge.
I see no reason why that shouldn't be the case, but at the same time I don't really care at all who the new killer and survivor will be. Doesn't matter at all to me.

No it doesn't. The Spirit is Rin. Rin is the Spirit. I don't have a dog in this fight, but that just doesn't make sense.
4 -
I really hope not no character should be both roles

Doesn't make any sense
Quite alot of things in this game don't make any sense. Why insisting that things must make sense here when they don't to begin with?
2 -
What sort of things don't make sense that can't be explained with "it's like that for gameplay reasons?"
0 -
Survivor rin when?
0 -
The lore makes sense having 2 rins good and evil in the entity realm won't make sense.
It won't happen why return to old character when you can do a new survivor like her dad or mom
0 -
Isn't the entity like god? If so I think it's plausible for rin to be survivor too.
0 -
What gameplay reasons are you even refering to?
Why would that not make sense if it is already reasonable to assume that there are two versions of rin - her normal self before she was killed and her rage filled self after she got killed.
It's an alternate universe afterall where practically anything could happen.
0 -
I just think it would be weak to have her as a survivor too, that would just mean that the devs have ran out of new ideas like Hollywood has and just started rebooting old stuff.
0 -
No it just pulls people from time.
It can't just pull the same character from 2 different points in time at least not yet. It's never happened.
0 -
Exactly we already know about Rin doing her all over again instead of a new character with new unique lore would be sad.

1) You're the one telling me lots of things don't make sense. What examples are you referring to?
2) Why is it reasonable to assume that Rin pre-Spirit and post-Spirit exist as two separate entities that can simultaneously co-exist? The Rin from Earth is now in the Entity's realm as a malevolent spirit.
0 -
Why not? Iirc some killers (not sure if it was any that we know of) we're first survivors and with time became killers. The concept of time is also very different in the entity's realm so lorewise it could maybe work.
0 -
Well just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it can't happen.
1 -
I'm not sure what that has to do with having two Rins? It's not like Rin was pulled into the realm as a Survivor and then gradually turned into a Killer.
0 -
Yeah, that is kinda true.
Still fun to think about.

I think this is a cool idea. Seeing as the Rin we have now would understand that death doesn't actually kill you in the entity's realm, she may have wanted to bring her old self into the realm to protect herself from being killed by her father. I know that sounds dumb, but I thought it was a cool concept.
0 -
1.) I've already given some examples.
2.) Because rin changed the moment she made a pact with the entity. It's not the same person anymore. The spirit is not rin, the spirit is rins rage.

I have mixed feelings. It would be pretty cool to have Rin as a survivor but i dislike going back to the same well twice, i would rather do a different arc.

1) The two examples you gave can be filed under "for gameplay reasons". There is no gameplay reason to have Rin as both Survivor and Killer.
2) That doesn't mean Rin exists as two beings at the same time. The Entity didn't put her into a copy machine.

To kinda build on it. Not all the killers were exactly horrendous people before the entity had them. 1/2 of the legions didn't even participate in the first kills through the lore. Billy just took his agression towards his parents. The plague, well she just got infected after so long and the entity just decided to grant her the power to kill.
The Spirit cursed her fathers name and the entity gave her power to take revenge and fueled her anger against her father. Until she wished for revenge, her backstory reads something similar to a survivors.
If the entity helped her in a way of bringing the anger inside of her out (just like Rin, I'm a college student working to pay rent... There is plenty of anger there) there is still a part of her that the entity either discarded or ignored, and that is the scared (I'm guessing) 20 something year old girl who had her own father murder her after a mental break.

"If the entity helped her in a way of bringing the anger inside of her out (I'm a college student working to pay rent... There is plenty there) there is still a part of her that the entity either discarded or ignored"
This seems like an assumption more than anything.

This.

It makes perfect sense. Entity has already snatched rin as she was dying. Entity could go back in time a little further and get rin before the episode also.

I don't understand. Which part is the opinion?
Then the whole Rin becomes the Spirit thing never happens. As far as I can tell, diverging timelines are not a thing in Dead By Daylight.

If this theory turns out to be true maybe claudette was taken from 2 time periods and she's the alchemist aswell... Or I'm looking way too far into this.
0 -
The entity's realm isn't part of history. Don't you ever watch sci fi lol.

Claudette strong enough to over power and capture killers to experiment on them?... 🤔
0 -
That doesn't mean that DBD is host to diverging timelines. :P

I'm not certain if the survivor would be Rin, but the devs have discussed potentially having Killer versions of survivors.
So it's not too crazy, especially since the entity has the entirety of the multiverse to pull people from.
Keep an open mind! 😜

The alchemist doesn't look like they can overpower killers so perhaps
0 -
They do in the written lore. Over powers trapper, billy etc chains them up all by hand and injects them with the hallowed goo

Are you sure that's glass it looked like lotus pedals *or cherry blossom pedals I mean
0 -
Well, bill is dead, and the entity is most likely to raise undead so what’s wrong with a little time disturbance?
0 -
Well all know if we get Rin as a survivor she ain't gonna have her long hair and if she doesn't have that then I don't want her lmao.
0 -
But how would that work? Imagine a Spirit hunting down her human self. It won’t make sense.
0 -
Actually it would.
The spirit would feel hatred for human Rin because she doesnt hate her father.
0 -
Still seems too paradoxic for me. But, J guess I can see it happening.
0 -
Rin survivor when?
0 -
But human Rin did hate her father. That's why she became the Spirit.
0 -
Look what that person is saying is maybe it is a version of Rin.
Think of it this way:
The entity pulls out the hatred and pulls out the revenge side of you. (Aka the toxic side of a person) and embodies that side of you into a form of it's own.
Then it decides that it wants a pure Rin full of love, HOPE, and... well... fear. So it pulls out that side of Rin and embodies that as another form on it's own.
Then you have a Killer Rin and a Survivor Rin and also would make total sense.
(Reference: Rick & Morty Rest and Ricklaxation, to see what I mean about 2 sides of a person embodying a form on it's own)

The thing is that there's nothing to suggest that the Entity pulled a part of Rin out of her or anything of the sort. What we know is that the Entity saw her rage, promised her revenge, and then she became the Spirit.
Coming up with theories to support the idea that it could be Rin doesn't mean that what we actually do know so far (which is little) suggests that it could be Rin.

What is it about the "cursed legacy" titles recently? What did I miss?
