Proximity chat for quality of life changes to the game.
This game is in a very healthy state as to where it was when it was released and there are a lot of things that the players have voiced and are happy to see changed in the game. On the surviver side of the game there is a lot of discussion as to what needs to be changed in each killer to make the game more “balanced”. I have an idea to make the game more balanced as a whole for the whole community. I would like to suggest the idea of proximity chat for survive with friends groups in the game. This would give killers at all ranks the ability to have some counter to an over powered mechanic in the game without taking away the ability for players to have survive with friends. For those of you who do not know what I am talking about it would make all survive with friends group chats in game chats that the killer could hear. There could be a function for the killers to turn this off and on in game and would make playing killers who do not perform well against strong organized teams more of an option at higher ranks. BeHavior has stressed that this year would be a year for quality of life changes to the game to make it more balanced. So why are hey only changing killers. Yes we got nerfs on insta heals but, more often than not they are looking to change killers more than other things in the game. Please let me know what you think and, BeHavior, if you really are trying to make the game more balanced please, listen and consider this change. I am not complaining like most of the community I am simply offering an idea to improve on the game. Thank you for reading this and tell me what you think.

Why would I ever use this proximity chat when I could just use discord instead?

The only games that have any real success with these sorts of communication manipulation mechanics are social deduction games. And they can only do so because those people in your discord call aren't necessarily your allies.
Dead by daylight has no such mechanics, so they have no incentive to use the mechanic.

To chat with randoms and killer when playing solo like on F13 game.
I loved the communication in that game.

Yea how are you going to prevent me from just talking over discord?
Like legit. Put it in the game and I will not use it as I have no reason to. Only downsides.
No smack here, atleast you're trying to come up with something, but I'm not feeling that one.

Queing up in a survive with friends group would automatically put the survivors in it. It would not be optional for survive with friends groups.

Hopefully the devs can come up with an interesting take on this idea and Maybe implement something similar. There will always be ways around things like this but, not everyone will use them.

You can't force them to use it.
I don't mean you shouldn't, I mean you CAN'T.
It's not hard to have your input audio not go to a specific game. And even if it wasn't I could just grab my phone, and even if I couldn't I'm often right next to my friends when I'm playing.
You also can't simply have the game not work unless it's getting input audio. Some people don't have any mic period, and even if all of them did they could have 2 different audio inputs and use one of them to connect to DBD and the other to actually talk with their friends.
And even if none of this worked I could simply use lobby dodging to get with my friends in solo que or just send discord invites to strangers and talk to whoever I happened to que up with.

Like I said previously, I understand that there are some individuals who will go out of there way to play around this. That is not the point I am making. Simply put, I would like to see the devs look into issues for the killer side of the game, and I am using my opinion of how the survive with friends issue for killers could possibly be fixed.
