FYI: Disable CrossPlay
If you want to play on LIVE servers, just disable CrossPlay in your settings and you'll find game almost instantly.
Or just play PTB if you want.

My face when a useless feature makes the game unplayable.
I am calling it useless because I have literally never had a game with a player from the Windows store (I use the Steam version) - at the very least I have never seen the cross-play icon that is supposed to be shown.

I had afew matches this morning, but apparently im now falling victim to this too. Someone spilled a drink on the server, lol. In all seriousness, im sure theyll get it up and working soon.

Same. if it supported ALL platforms (ps4, xbox, switch) then it would be a great addition to the game. But it only supports a very small playerbase that is buying the game on windows store.

No no and no.
Now after disabling them I get cannot connect to server error and I was not getting that b4. I've restarted, rebooted and turned cross play back on....then restarted and rebooted again and now it's a permanent error screen when hitting ready on killer or surv.

hopefully (but probably never) there will be once an option that make a REAL crossplay possible. as in including ps4, xbox and switch players together with pc players for a faster matchmaking

If you have issues for using what was in the ingame options...I dont think you can really blame it on THAT guy. It would be one thing if he told you to screw with the gamefiles, but the ingame options SHOULD be safe to tweek.

it worked for me for one game but sadly someone dc on loading screen so i only caught a glimpse of Mother's Dwelling. the next time i tried to queue game gave me "Connection with host could not be established."
i restarted the game - same issue.
turned on VPN and restarted Steam(i'm in Russia, switched to Germany) and now it is searching for killer match for several minutes, no luck so far.
gave up on killer. trying survivor(i type this out while waiting. sorry if confusing). no luck either.
welp, i dunno, i give up.
