New Idea For a Chapter: The Song Of The Woods
Chapter: The Song Of The Woods
Killer: The Imp
Overview: The Imp is a small killer that doesn't seem to understand the consequences of his killings. With his power, Flute Of The Lost, The Imp can make survivors confused resulting in some extreme penalties if the survivors don't menage to adapt, such as losing repair progression on generators and getting easily hit.
His personal perks, Fun And Games, Skull Kid and Prankster, may trick survivors into hard situations, making them play with caution and thinking before they act.
Appearance: The Imp has the size of a 7 year old kid. He wears a baggy blue jumpsuit which has holes and cuts all over it. The Imp doesn't wear shoes, since his jumpsuit covers his feet. He has a big bag made of fabric on his head, which he uses as a mask. The bag is tied in his neck by a rope with knot so tight that makes it seem like The Imp was some boy that was hanged. The cloth on his head has a large cut where it should be the mouth, which was poorly sewed. On the spot where his left eye should be, there's a big black button that was sewed to represent an eye, but as for the right eye there's only a hole in the fabric which allows to have a glimpse of The Imp's face. The hole on the bag shows only an empty orbit as the skin and flesh around it seems rotten. On his forehead, two giant horns that resembles of a goat's pierce the bag. His wrists have two segments of a rope that seemed to have been torn apart.
M1: The weapon of choice is a net full of hard, heavy and pointy rocks. The Imp always aims for the head when attacking with it.
Killer Power: Flute Of The Lost – The Imp holds the power of a magic flute which can play two songs.
By pressing the Active Ability Button, The Imp will quickly play “The Song Of The Hopeless”. After playing this song, all survivors currently repairing a generator will face a tremendously difficult skill check. Failing the skill check will result in a 25% generator regression. After playing the flute, this ability will enter in a long cooldown.
By pressing the Power Button, The Imp will start playing “The Song Of The Wanderer”. While playing The Song Of The Wanderer, every survivor within The Imp's Terror Radius will receive the confused status effect.
Survivors with the confused status effects will have their movement control keys randomly swapped and their camera adjustment control inverted. Which means that, in default, the movement control keys (W, A, S, D) may be swapped in a way that by pressing W, your survivor will move left and by pressing A, your survivor will move right. As for the camera adjustment, it will just invert in a way that by moving your mouse up your camera will go down. A random setting for the survivor's movement control keys will generate every time they receive the confused status effect.
The Imp can stop playing The Song Of Wanderer anytime by pressing the Power Button again, which will cause the survivors to lose their confused status effect. The Imp will also stop playing when trying to hit the survivor with his basic attack, by getting stunned by a pallet. After ending the music, the ability will enter in cooldown.
Perks:
Level 30: Fun And Games – For every hooked survivors you gain a token up to a maximum of 6/7/8. Each token increases the odds of having a skill check by 5%.
“Let me bring you somewhere. I promise we will have lots of fun there.” - Ralph Lewis
Level 35: Skull Kid – You become obsessed with a survivor. Every time your obsession gets in the dying state, their auras won't be seen by any other survivor. However, the other survivors will see the killer's aura as the obsession's. This effect persists for survivors who are at least 32/24/16 away from the killer.
“With this oath, the despair and fear that my son felt will be passed to everyone on this rotten city.” - Nicholas Lewis
Level 40: Prankster – At the begging of the trial, 2 chests will become trapped. When a survivor finishes searching a trapped chest, they will scream reveling their location and receive the exposed status effect for 10/15/20 seconds.
“I know my child is still on the woods, wandering around, lost and slowly being consumed by something.” - unknown mother
Lore: The little Ralph Lewis grew up between luxurious walls of a huge mansion. However, what seemed like a perfect childhood in the eyes of others, for him it was a prison. His father, the owner of an emerging toy company, made sure that his child would stay protected from the outside world, as he judged the old streets of the town to be too dangerous for his son.
Ralph would have classes at home with a private teacher, and never was allowed to leave the state as a butler was always by his side. For that reason, the little one always dreamed about seeing the outside world and it's beauties. It did not took long before the kid started to try to escape through the iron bars that surrounded the mansion, but his attempts were always bonded to fail due to the constant intervention of the ones that lived with him.
One day, as he was playing alone in the huge backyard, a tall man approached the limits of the mansion and called his name. Ralph took some to recognize the man's facial characteristics, but he soon noticed he already met the man. He was at his house some months ago with a friend, arguing and threatening loudly in his father's office. When he asked his father about who they were, he just said that they were rivals to the company, but little Ralph too young to understand the whole situation.
Ralph then came near to man by curiosity, even though he knew his father would be against it. The man introduced himself as business man friend of his father, and with some small talk, he managed to gain Ralph's trust. They started to talk, and as Ralph showed his interest in discovering the world, the old man promised him to bring him somewhere nice, a beautiful place where he could play and have fun all day. However, he could only show Ralph that location if the little one agreed to give him some papers hidden in his father's office.
During nighttime of that same day, Ralph sneaked up on the office, and stole from there all the documents stored in the drawer next to the window. When the sun was about to rise, the child came back to the limits of the mansion, where the man was waiting for him. Receiving what he desired, the man broke the iron bars and held Ralph by his hand as he brought him to a black car where two other men were. Suddenly, one of the men put a piece of fabric with a weird smell on Ralph's face, and then, the kid fainted.
When Ralph woke up, he couldn't see anything but a pitch-black landscape. He felt difficulty in breathing, as he noticed that a bag of fabric was covering his face, tied by a rope with a tight knot. He tried to stand up, but he couldn't use his hand since they were tied together. Although Ralph couldn't see, he still could hear his surroundings. Owls were growling and some small animals were squeaking around him. He was at the woods.
Ralph was scared, he cried for his dad or for someone's help, but it was no use. When his tears started making the fabric of his bag wet, he started to listen someone's voice. The voice was singing a song that he remembered as something that his late mother used to sing. Feeling a bit of hope, Ralph stood up and started following the fading melody. As he walked, the song song started to grow louder. He figured that he was only deeper and deeper into the woods by following the voice, but he didn't mind, after all, that song was the only thing that was giving him comfort.
Suddenly, a strong light hit his eyes, and his vision cleared even though he was still with that bag on his head. Ralph got mesmerized by the wonderland that stood before him. A beautiful forest with cute animals playing with each other around, a lake filled with colorful fish and the bright sun shinning above his head. Ralph realized, that man didn't lied to him after all, and this was the place he promised to bring him. With his dream fulfilled, Ralph couldn't be happier. However, a strong feeling of loneliness filled his heart as he noticed he was the only one at that place. He knew what he had to do. He had to bring everyone to his new home.
The next week's news were shocking. After the disappearance of his son and his company going bankrupt, a millionaire committed suicide by hanging himself on his office. But what really caused the panic of the people were the cases of missing children that followed Ralph's disappearance. Parents all over the city reported listening to a strange song played by a flute, on the day their kids went missing. Eventually, every kid that disappeared were found laying next to the woods, when brought to a hospital, all of them were diagnosed with brain death. Soon it became popular, the legend of an imp who would lure children to the woods with a song, and then take their souls to play with him forever. From that day one, the city folk learned that if they ever listened to a flute playing late night, their kids were in The Imp's list.
