A wholesome trial experience I want to share

I feel like the forums don't have enough positive things discussed, so I just wanted to put this out here.

I'm a mediocre survivor, at best, in rank 9 this morning. The rift challenge I'm attempting and expecting to fail for the next five hours is blinding killer twice in a single trial. Just to be clear, I'm an absolute potato with flashlight and might as well just be giving my BP directly to the Entity so I don't get another flashlight to sit in my inventory for eternity, mocking me for my ineptitude.

I start the trial with a green flashlight, green battery and red bull fully expecting to just die. Freddy finds me first, and after a short chase I get a lucky pallet stun that probably shouldn't have hit him. Blind while he breaks and I see he's aggressive on me now. I drop a pallet on him again like 20 seconds later and get the second blind.

I've been in his place before, as two gens pop around us. What I did at this point was just back up a little waiting for the blind to wear off and offer him my flashlight on the ground and slow crouch back away.

That's when the coolest thing that's ever happened to me in a toxic game community like this. He just steps on top of it, looks at me, nods and goes off hunting someone else so we can restart our chase on better terms when he finds me again. I didn't even feel bad when he got a 3k including me.

I don't know if I'm the only one who might be excited by this story, but honestly it gives me hope for the future of playing this game. I hope some others get a similar wholesome trail every once in a while, and I think we would do well to talk more about them.

This has been my Ted Talk, thanks for coming. And thanks the that Freddy as well. Have a great day everyone.
