Question about healing skillchecks

Let's say that over the course of a normal, 16 second heal, you have a 50% chance of getting 1 skill check. If I were to equip Botany Knowledge and speed the heal up by 33%, would I still have a 50% chance of getting 1 skill check?
I'm asking because I'm curious about the interaction between BK and Autodidact and whether or not there's an anti-synergy when they're combined. Basically, do you have a chance to get a skill check every x seconds, or every x charges?
