Rank Reset Shouldn't Exist
I literally see no reason for rank reset staying in the game.
Before the rank reset change is coming, the only thing rank reset did was put survivors teammates that weren't the same kill level and made sure the killer had an easy time. Now the new change will make it a LOT more tolerable, since we'll only be put back ONE crest colour.
But what ever WAS the point of rank reset? Because now with the new changes it seems completely useless.
To be honest, I never found a point to rank reset. Now I especially think it should go.
I don't know. maybe if someone (or the devs) could give me a valid reason for it to be in the game I would understand. For now, though, I don't see a point.

If you dont play for 4 months i dont expect you to be tip top shape.
Besides 1 rank down doesnt take long to regain.

Idk part of it could be to spread people better. If everyone is between rank 20 and 10 its easier to find games for x amount of time

Rank reset is stupid as is, I was rank 4 and now I'm 12 and can't get back up because any time I make a good play, I get camped and patrolled and tunneled. Then it goes something like this in Endgame chat
Me: enjoy the 1k lmao, you won't get better playing like that
Killer: haha noob xd

It's there to make it easier to farm rank 15s
or...because ranking system is so innacurate that if not the reset most potatos would end up in red ranks eventually

The upcoming rank reset change will make it so that half the community will be playing on purple & red ranks within few months. I don't see what's good about that.

Highly agreed. I guess they are doing it to make sure that Red Ranks do not play against actual Newbies and to make it harder for Derankers. While this is indeed a point, if someone is playing normally after Rank Reset, they are back in purple after a few hours already.
Now people who reach Rank 1 on either Side pretty quickly will be merged together with people who barely reach Rank 4 close before Rank Reset. The time close before Rank Reset was usually the worst for me, because playing against Killers who just are able to reach Red Ranks or with Survivors who struggle with that is not enjoyable. And now you will have those Matches pretty much instantly after Rank Reset.

I don't like the new change coming in. I always like rank reset since it meant I could have a break from constant sweaty rank 1

One reason could be so that killers have an opportunity to learn new killers with high skill ceilings like nurse, huntress or hag etc.

Does it matter? If you good enough you'll be back up, unless, you got friends to boost you up

I just want to know why as a rank 7 survivor I am constantly getting paired with nonsense.
A typical match for me lately.
Me Rank 7
Surv 2 Rank 15
Surv 3 Rank 17
Surv 4 rank 11
Killer rank 13.
So of course the killer smashes the rank 13-17. MAYBE the rank 11 is halfway decent. Or if I lead the killer on a MASSIVE chase early no one gets any gens done because their horrible ranks. Then when the killer does finally down me. OH of course he is a baby that will take it personal I led him on a long chase. He will proceed to camp me while the potato team doesn't do any gens but slowly piles in until I am dead and 2 are on the ground or something.

Dead by Daylight is a team game. It’s quit hard to do anything by yourself. You NEED the others.

While the new rank reset will make it easier on newer players and shorten the time it takes to get back to rank 1, it has some problems.
- More people are going to be in red and purple ranks, meaning that brown, yellow, and maybe even green rank players might struggle to find games.
- You could be more chill knowing that you could go up against lower skilled players.
- Learning a new Killer or playstyle won't be fun. You could argue that it's more beneficial to learn against red ranks to counter their strategies, but it's not really fun getting destroyed game after game just because you're trying out a new Killer.
- The Killer Adepts are going to be hell. They already suck enough today, but imagine having to get four Iridescents with a Killer that just came out at red ranks. If you aren't able to play when it first comes out, then you'll have to get the Adept against Survivors that have already learned the counterplay to that Killer. You'd have to hope that you depip enough to where you stay in purple or pray that you get it before you enter red ranks.

I didn't mean it like that, I worded it wrong for the point, the point I wanted was that it shouldn't be an issue if you can play well anyways, it just helps put boosters back down for a little, again worded wrong but this time from alcohol not stupidity lol

Hmmm, pretty sure if I got to Rank 1 as Killer and then didn't play for 3 months and I was still at Rank 1 I would probably suck real bad since I haven't been playing. Guess problems like that just don't exist?

Rank reset is simply to prevent everyone from eventually being red ranks and completely screwing up queues for new players. If resets didnt exist, the entire playerbase would be about rank 1-5 except for ppl who JUST downloaded the game whod be stuck at rank 20 unable to find a match. I asked the same question of "why is this a thing" a long time ago...this was the answer.

Serious? Now you will play with potatoe survivors as teammates forever, cause they get back into the same range as you in much less time. I hope they rethink their change of how rankreset works, thats one of the worst changes so far.
