do you guys really think Franklin's is a good way to counter keys ?
I'm just curious as to what the community thinks

overwhelming presence best counter

Don't they still glow in the ground when dropped, or did they fix that?

It's not really a "counter" to keys as it is a way to complicate their use. Keys are kinda hard to see, and knocking them out of someone's hand essentially gives them another objective every time they're out of a chase with you : grabbing their key back. It makes the keyholder waste time, which means they're less likely to get out unless they're super immersed blendette with key people.

No. Nobody uses the active so it's never going to destroy the key (which would take TEN hits) and nobody is dumb enough to forget where they got hit when carrying one.
The only REAL counter to a key is to tunnel the person who holds it and really hope they have the "don't lose the key on death" add on.
Plunderer's Instinct is what annoys me more of the time. It's basically 1 in 3 chance of getting a key each match, and the killer can have 0 way to prepare, see it coming, or even see the key before it's used to deny multiple kills.

Sadly, there's probably a counter to your counter. I'm not sure if people actually do this, but my friend will hide his key in the corner of the map if someone runs Franklin's. I guess the most you can do is kill them off or just keep running Franklin's since it does waste their time finding it again if they're that desperate.

overwhelming presence should be buffed to drain the charges when they aren't using the item would actually be useful against keys

Im ok with 3 Survivors left using key with 1 Gen left. They already did a good job, further more its not like all 3 escape at once except SWF. Most of the time 2 left and there is still 1 stuck in the trial alone with EGC
Im ok with 2 Survivors left using key with 2 Gen left. They already did a good job. Its already at the game balance goal: 2 dead, 2 alive.
Im ok with 1 Survivor left using key with 3 Gen left. They already did something to have the last one alive.
Im NOT ok with 1 Survivor left with 5 Gen left by any mean.
The escape chance should be harder for the last Survivor the less Gen they're done. And the Easier the more Gen they're done.

key + left behind is literally free escape lmao

It takes a perk that useless in trial duration. And its still requires for them to be alive with 2-3 dead to make it happens. Not totally free for me (if there are more than 3 Gen done). 5Gen left yes its a free escape, but special reward except 5000Bp.

That's the reverse of the reality. The killer is in the least control of the match the more gen are on the map. The issue with keys largely is that you take the point where killers are meant to have some form of control, like the last generator, and go "screw it, you got one kill so you lose!" That's seriously problematic.

Everone that thinks franklins is a good counter probably uses "Dying Light" and "Surge" to slow down the gens. The survivors can just drop the key on a place they remember. Boom!
