Since Deep Wounds is another health state...

Shouldn't it come with a static downside?

The plague makes survivors sick, but being sick doesn't actually hinder them in anyway. However, they do make quite a bit more noise and are easier to find if they interact with anything.

What if Deep Wounds did something similar like a built in Stridor effect? Something that kicked in that would actually make this dangerous sounding status actually dangerous without impeding survivors.

The timer is so forgiving that it doesn't really mean anything to Survivors other than they just got injured.

Personally I'd like to see a hindered or exhausted effect built in since they're suffering from a "Deep Wound" that might make it difficult to function normally... or should.

Thoughts?

I'd be cool with it increasing cries of pain. Maybe if it also made your scratch marks last longer like an old Predator too.

Exhausted would be fine. A nice buff to legion nearby.

I just wish nurses calling worked on mends so legion can actually have perks to use

The difference between plauge making survivors louder while sick and deep wounds doing it is survivors arnt gonna be stealthing with a DW timer. They either mend or run, otherwise the timer drops. This means unlike sickness, survivors arnt likely to still have a DW timer when you find them later, therefore you'd never benefit from any antistealth mechanic.

    Just scrap Deep Wounds altogether.

Honestly there's a lot of potential with deep wounds, anything from skillchecks that don't provide a great skillcheck like closing a portal, minor/weaker status effects, and making it get seen by Nurse's calling. But I'm going to guess they have no plans to touch it.

Why would they? That would mean that BHVR would have to do their job for once for their paying customers.

I like the idea of portal skillchecks. The NC thing will never happen. Feral frenzy is a good power and I would hate to see them give legion a full rework like freddy, but leave FF alone and get deep wounds straight. Well they could shorten cooldown of FF a gnats ass.

@ocafghanistan Yea seriously there’s no reason mending shouldn’t be considered a healing action at this point

This entire Deep Wounds fiasco has gotten me so down, it's ######### like this that makes me wish Legion never came to DBD, BHVR has done nothing but torment those poor fictional kids and ruined Borrowed Time to the point where it's a joke.

Feral Frenzy a good power? Maybe. IF they removed Deep Wound and gave us something else to use. But They won't and they don't care.

The thing is if you stop to Mend in a nice hiding spot, the killer won't be able to find you if you have Iron Will. If your cries of pain were louder, it would make you more vulnerable during the Mending process. It'd encourage survivors to run until they are far far away from the killer before Mending, which means more wasted time.

@SpaceCoconut I don't think normal Deep Wounds should have Exhausted or Hindered, however they should make it so that if you have Deep Wounds during EGC you suffer from Hindered as well. This would make it harder to just rip someone off a hook and run out the door, you'd have to do more to protect them or coordinate to open the door as late as possible.
