I wouldn't do it just because I want BP, but I absolutely wouldn't blame someone who did.

IMO yes I think it's a fair reason, but the thing is you can just die on hook can't you? You have to be hooked there for it anyways, can't you just like die on the hook and leave it at that?
No reason to take a leaver penalty when they are added when you can just do that and move on. You would get BP that way still too.
Does it not let you do that? If you can't do that; or if someone saves you before you can die.....I think you are in the right to DC but soon they are gonna turn DC punishments on, if they are smart they will fix this bug and THEN do that though....

If your game is bugged and there is no possible way for you to leave the match without disconnecting - that is, it is impossible for you to either escape or wait to die - then yes, it is acceptable to do so.

Nope, sadly not.
I ended up in the Basement... Got unhooked, unable to navigate because my Screen was white. Got downed, hooked again. And well, my character struggled automatically. I could not even die on Hook, I needed to wait for another Unhook and another Hook to actually leave the game...

It doesnt even let you attempt escape so I can't suicide and lately my teams have been saving me even though I'm in the void and they often die attempting to save me so id rather them not waste time

I think you are in the right to DC at that point; but keep in mind the DC punishment is automatic so hopefully you don't DC from any other matches, and you should be fine.
The DC penalty is probably going to be delayed I am calling it now lol; cause they can't release those DC lockouts until this is fixed, it is only fair.

Totally understandable then my dude. Killers should know not to try and basement hook unless it is the only hook they could reach till it's fixed, anyone running a basement BUILD right now is a dick lol.

Havent had it happen to me yet, but a buddy of mine was telling me about he had a game with a streamer. Streamer hooked him up in the basement, and he got to watch the streamer get to leave the game with him still stuck looking at a green screen... For some reason, the fact that the killer had left was not enough to boot him out of the match...
Really hoping they fix this soon though. I wanna be able to basement hook ppl guilt free again. Had a game this morning where I downed 2 people directly infront of the basement stairs back to back... As in they both were downed at the same time and instead of the best move, I had to take pity and hook them somewhere else. Hook the first guy, pickup the 2nd guy and 1st gets unhooked. Wouldve had em both on hooks for much longer if I couldve hooked em in a non-buggy basement

It's on the list of Known Issues in the Patch Notes, and Peanits confirmed that they are already testing a fix and hoping to release a hotfix as soon as possible to fix the issue. So rest assured, all should be well with the basement once again in the near future!

Does this bug make your screen go black and stay black the rest of the game, even if unhooked?
That sounds like a "reboot the game" moment because its not working.

From what I understand, the basement bug is pretty game-breaking, so yes, I would say a DC in this circumstance is perfectly acceptable.

But this highlights the problem with the DC penalty. For this one we got a buffer since the glitch started days before the penalty system actually kicks in. But what about the next one? What happens on the next game breaking bug that it is ridiculous to expect players to sit and wait through and that won't be fixed for days?
In a situation like this I'd estimate a player who plays 5 hours/day will experience the bug about 2-4 times. If it takes 3 days to fix that's 6-12 DCs. I don't know the penalty escalation logarithm but it sure doesn't seem fair to get that far into a possible permanent ban for just trying not to waste your time sitting in an unplayable game.
