Tip to unbug yourself from the basement
Found out yesterday, maybe it was already pointed out by someone by I thought it would help anyways. Basically if the killer picks you up after the bug happened, you unbug, but you can also do it by yourself by walking out of the basement. Obviously it's impossible alone (unless you're lucky AF), but if you're on SWF just call you friends to unhook you and let them guide you until you are up the stairs

Leaving the basement hasn’t fixed me yet. Returning to the basement after leaving it is the only way I’ve been fixed.

I learned this when I pulled someone out of the basement to help them with their situation, though I assumed it was because I let them break free after escaping the basement.
