I really wish something would be done against the constant tunnel

I really dont care it its a legit strategy or not. Its total bullshit, requires no skill from the killer, cause there really is no skill involved to down someone immediately after they stand on their feet. What do we get against this form of practice? We get a one time use of a perk. Thats it. While its from the survivor side the most common problem that we face in a game. Killers complain about genrush. How many perks did they get by now to slow down the game? Its Ridcilous that builds as forever Freddy even exist nowadays. And what do the survivors get? Nothing for the biggest issue in the game from their side. Killers are highly rewarded for tunnelling. Its why it is the meta right now. There is no punishment for standing close to a hook. They know someone will always come, cause its a survivors nature. And what do survivors get? They actually get punished in their emblems for making "unsafe" unhooks. I really dont get that. I am not a farmer. I dont save immediately. But the amount of unsafe unhooks is ridiculous. Why am I being punished cause a killer refuses to patrol gens but just hook proximity camps? Most of the time, killers i face tunnel. They proximity camp to do the tunnel. Against killers like that, there is no safe way to save people of the hook. As a survivor, i am getting punsihed for a killers behaviour where i dont have any influence on. If he decided to tunnel, camp, i can never make a safe unhook. Its ridicuolous that as a survivor, you are getting punished for someone elses choices. Farming? I play a lot, but there are hardly any farmers. Every unsafe unhook to me, is a killer that just likes to camp. For me, this penalty shouldnt even exist therefor.

And pls BHVR, do something about the tunnelling. Give us perks that help. hurt killers in their score points. Downing someone within 30 seconds after unhook, should be 0 points. Hanging them immediately again, shouldnt award points. It should give them a penalty for tunnelling. I dont care if sometimes it needed. Its never needed. Had a killer today complaining complaining about genrush. Well, what you expect when you just walk around the hook instead of chasing people of gens? you expect us all to do nothing while you do nothing but wait? There is no such thing as genrushing. Its bullshit. With all the slowdown perks killers have nowadays, there isnt even genrush possible. But the first thing about tunnelling needs to get done. There is no penalty for doing so. It should be the least rewarding gameplay. But yet, its the highest rewarding one. Change it.

What you speak of is also strongly linked to camping. And If killers get rewarded for that, it is the survivors fault. Most survivors are super altruistic and rush to the hook as soon as the down happens. Camping the hook like the killer. Just get used to accept it and do gens. Not talking about you specifically, when you are hangin on the hook.

Another thing that regularly happens: if you get camped, HANG IN THERE! So your team gets 2 minutes of gen progression. Maybe wave to say "he's camping" like in the good ol days. But don't kobe and scarifice yourself. THIS is what rewards the killer, not the tunneling and camping. If people would more consistently follow that, maybe killers would reduce this type of gameplay

I play killer. Just not a tunnel and camping one. I dont care if i get a 4k. I only want legitimate kills. Id like everyone to feel good when the match is over. I hardly get any salt, not even when i do 4k. They know i didnt do any of the bullshit. I hardly get Dc's against me. Suicides on first hook. I hook everyone three times. Max out my score. Patrol gens, cause thats how you stop genrush. Not by staying at the hook. I usually walk away with 2/3k and 30k points. To me thats fine. Happy survivors, cause they had a decent game for once. All the tunneling and camping is highly depressing to face 99 out of a 100 games. Thats how bad it is right now.

Tired of being tunneled? Jump on a hook.

Your vision is so one-sided. There are penalties for camping, contrary to what you wrote. Killers who camp are punished in the emblem system, they may lose 1 or 2 gens in the process, and they get less chase / sacrifice blood points.

Campers camp because they like it or need it (for an achievement or a challenge) so nothing will stop that. They don't care about BPs or emblems, otherwise they would play another way.

Camping is not easy winning game wise as you don't pip easily doing so, as you eventually de-pip with kills. Camping and tunneling isn't rewarding, it's a poor gameplay, but nothing in the game mechanics will ever avoid that.

Yesterday I got camped and tunneled by a Billy. Dead in 3 minutes. Did that "ruin my game experience ?" Yes I was annoyed, but I just moved to the next session, no need to be mad about that.

    1. Tunneling normally happens with a proximity camp strategy first.
    2. If you get to do 1 gen relatively quickly, it will start putting pressure on the killer, he will have seconds thoughts about not patrolling the gens.
    3. If you get a second gen fixed with all the survivor alive (and, let´s say, one survivor hooked in the second phase), the killer will have 3rd thoughts: if he camps until the survivor dies, here could be 2 gens left with 3 survivors, not a desirabe scenario).
    4. To accomplish this, you need to have some perks that allow improving gen repair, rescue someone safely and being unnoticed if the killer has Barbecue and Chilli.
    5. My recommendation is to use --> Distortion and Borrowed Time, along with a Toolbox choosed on the last 10 seconds of the start of the game, so the killer does not consider to use Franklin´s.
    6. If you don´t have a tool box, just use some good luck amulet or extra chest amulet.
    7. The other 2 perks can be use for Small Hunt (super useful for the Hex, the Witch, the Trapper or Freddy) and Empathy (with this, you can run to a survivor and get healed or heal him and earn more points).

I really think it´s the safest combination for any kind of killer, since we don´t know who we are playing against until it´s too late 😉

    PS: I´m rank 3.

When really don’t need anymore anti-tunneling perks. The current meta of survivors perks is already annoying enough because of perks that make you invincible for so long like how DS makes you invincible for 60 seconds alongside with borrowed time where you can take a free hit in I think 15 seconds. It’s come to the point that survivors who run these perks are just running towards the killer because they know they can waste the killers time with their invincibly over the people who don’t have DS activated or borrowed time on them. If they ad more anti-tunneling perks to the meta it will be absolute hell for the killer wether they tunnel or not because these perks actually still effect killers who don’t tunnel. I agree that the gen speeds should be looked into so that way stuff like forever Freddy will be way less unfun to play against but with camping and tunneling I genuinely feel like killers who do that already get really screwed over because they’d gain no points and also survivors, again, have all these invincibility perks to save them from these situations.

Ps: i am a rank 4. And when you get to red ranks, its just every killer who does this. So not being able to pip? i would say total bs, why are they all red ranks then? There are a few good killers out there. But most just got there by tunneling and proximity camping. And yes, i run BT. I run Bond. But as a solo survivor, you cant tell if there is camping and tunneling. Just do gens isnt an option as a solo. you will need to make a safe at some point and then you know its there.

I hate it too, but I understand why it is done. If you are really concerned with pips and rank then people do it to swing the match in their favor as quickly as they can.

Or if you are new, you do it because you are insecure if you can get a kill or catch a survivor again.

I do not do this as killer anymore, I have been enjoying attempting to "git gud" as survivor and know how frustrating this can be. I have more relaxed games as killer and survivors seem to play less sweaty when they see I am not tunneling.

I don't mean downing them and chasing the unhooker, I mean ignoring them and chasing the unhooker.

Full BBQ stacks and 2ks and maybe 10 hooks is great game for me now!

Hard disagree. As others have mentioned, a true tunneler will need to camp you. If the killer is camping you, the solution is to NOT have you be saved, but have the others do gens. One of the worst attitudes I see in this game is the idea that “I MUST be saved if I go on the hook.” This is objectively untrue. If the killer is camping, a save attempt will only end up rewarding the behavior. If you’re being camped, you have 2 minutes of life on the hook. That’s enough time for 3 gens to pop and another to be most of the way along if everyone does one and then meets at a fourth together. You die, but the killer is legitimately punished for the behavior. That’s how you discourage camping, and by extension, true tunneling.

If I’m surviving, the WORST thing you can do is save me when Kindred is showing that pink aura more often than not. Leave me to die, do gens, and punish the behavior. I will be much happier dying knowing I’m helping to give a mediocre killer a good lesson, than being farmed off the hook for points and rewarding the behavior the killer is exhibiting.

@OldSilentHill I wouldn't agree on point 5. Last second switches are normally things that trigger me to go for that specific victim (although normally it is a last second flashlight that does so)

My teammate getting killed because my other teammates didn't protect them off the hook, isn't my fault.
