Let’s be Objective here. SWF stacks the deck against the Killer
So I’ve felt this for a long time now as a killer main. I preface this by saying I used to be a survivor main.
I had just had a match where I was playing killer. When I started I checked out 1 gen. By the time I reached the second a gen was done. I went over to the area where the gen was finished and checked out the gen nearest to it and what do I find?, but 3 people working on it and just popping it.
Now I know what you’re thinking. Run discordance. And normally you’d be right. My point is that a swf team has way more information than the killer often does. And can slam out the objectives at a rapid pace. I’m just one killer. There isn’t anyone I can turn to for information. I only have myself and my meager perks. And the way that the killers have been nerfed it makes noed a necessity. A killer who wipes a team is called a try hard and sweaty. But a swf team that finishes every gen and loops the killer for ages is just a fact of life? I realize this is a element of the game that isn’t going anywhere, it’d be suicide for the game. Also being on a swf team is fun. But the game is a two sided coin. The killer needs to have fun too. But it always feels like we’re at a disadvantage. The premise of the game is that we’re the hunters and you’re the prey. Yet it doesn’t always feel that way. Legion for example just feels like your pestering the survivors and is really of no consequence at all. Perks and killers need to be buffed a lot. It honestly should be a struggle for survivors to win. Isn’t that the point? Clearly the entity needs to throw the killers more tools.
I shouldn’t have to run noed or hex ruin. They SHOULDN’T be core. But they are on a lot of killers. I refuse to use them. Rather I opt for discordance and surveillance. There needs to be a push to have a better line up of perks for the killers. Survivors have oodles or second chances. That luxury is not afforded to the killer. A good swf team will slam out the gens and 99% the gates and get everyone out. And if someone doesn’t get out, they can always grab the hatch.
And don’t even get me started on the EGC. You could “win” the match and kill all but one. You find the hatch, close it and by the time you reach the door it’s already open. So it’s really up to the killer to be like, “you wanna leave through the gate or the door?”
I realize that my argument lost some focus and went off the rails a touch. At any rate. A good survive with friends team can really whomp the killer. I watch enough streams and play enough matches to see how poorly it can go. Venting over. What about you? I invite swf teams to voice their opinions objectively. Do you think that it’s fair level playing field? Single players, your opinions? Killers mains or even people who dabble in killer, what are your opinions?

Frustrating and obnoxious SWF is one of the reasons I stopped playing Killer. Its not the main reason, but its one of them.
I just want to have fun and I find playing Killer to be stressful and unfun more than anything. Its only fun, for me, like 5-10% of the time.
BHVR says they are looking at ways to address the stark difference between Solo and SWF groups, but we haven't really seen anything as of yet.
If anything the Freddy and Oni nerfs help SWF more than Solo players. 🤷♂️

SWF can break the game if they want. I've been on both ends of Delta Force SWF squads and I've also been in 4 man SWFs that lose every game because we're goofing off and barely paying attention. I've also been solo queue'd and been mistaken for a SWF due to how well we clicked.
Point being, survivors always have the ability to pretty much break the game with perk and item synergies. Especially if they always have one-way OoO through comms and can coordinate saves.

No one really argues that SWF isn't incredibly strong and stacks odds against the killer. Everyone seems to realize this.
The thing with SWF is to find out how to balance killers and solo around them so that the most people can have fun.
You want to buff killers, but not destroy solo. You also want to not penalize swf for playing with their friends. It's a hard thing to balance and I don't envy Bvhr for it.
But yes, objectively, swf is a problem.

Nerfing swf is not the answer. That will either drive players away or make them use workarounds like queueing solo and hoping to get in the same lobby with their friends. Buffing solo survivors and in turn buffing killers is the best the devs can do. The latest Kindred change is a huge step in the right direction (even if it requires a perk slot).
The devs just need to keep going and hopefully eventually swf won't be that much stronger than solos.

True, but what do you think they should do for killers? Kindred is god tier now for sure if your solo.

Yes, me and my 3 swf genrushed every killer we faced at rank 10 or so, not the highest but even at r3 and 4 we did the same thing. Game is NOT balanced when swf is in play.

Yes. Good SWF should beat any good killer. Before, when you played killer and you saw your friends, or a SWF group with good survivors you recognize, you knew you were going to lose *if you didn't play a top tier killer*
So often time you would Nurse/Spirit them, because that's the only way they'd have a challenge. You can't really do that so much anymore
