Matchmaking system changes.

Matchmaking:

1.) This needs a bit of an improvement and honestly needs to look for players based on connection to the hosting player starting from x point and gradually expanding till filling the lobby. There are so many games that I get into and see people with yellow or red bars it's like they're running on a 56k dial-up modem and don't even get me started with the people teleporting everywhere. Something needs to be done about this if you're going to continue with a peer to peer connection to preserve some sort of quality integrity.

2.) Matchmaking needs to be based within Rank Restrictions, for example, limiting say a level 20 to only being able to play against people within 2-3 ranks of their rank which would extend to the SWF groups as well, I understand wanting to play with your friends but to make the game fair in rank you should have a rank limiter preventing people that are rank 1-2 from playing against people who are rank 15-16. I've had this happen numerous times where I'll get a rank 2-6 survivor and I'm a rank 14 killer. I've had good and bad games against them, games where I'm like "Damn I can't get em, ~slam keyboard and punches kittens.~ xD...Then games where it's like "o.0 how did you get to rank 2?" I understand this is most likely an SWF circumstance but SWF or not limiters need to be in place to balance out the game, this could also potentially provide more profit for the company as well if a rank 1 wants to play with their rank 16 friends they'd have to de-pip or buy a new copy of the game.

It is impossible to have green ping worldwide,  no matter how good your connection is, oh and btw down/up speed is no indication for stability

Sure there must be more limitations, swf only be to queue with +- 3 ranks or sth like that, but for that to make sense rank had to mean something first, at he moment itndoesnt

There are ways to make peer to peer connection better starting the matching system off by looking for local connections and slowly expanding its range and or pinging from the host to next and the next and the next all this stuff can be done instantly and the game would know damn near instantly if that person is a good match for that lobby or not, plenty of games already use something similar. This would result in more green / low yellow bar matches and almost wipe out red bars altogether, then on top of all this they could impose a ping limit like say anything over 250 wouldn't be considered and if someones ping spiked such as lag switchers they would auto dc from the game if it went over that limit.

Lag Switch: A lag switch is a piece of equipment installed on a home network that temporarily delays the flow of traffic to the internet. In an online gaming context, the physical toggle can be switched on to delay gameplay to give the lag switcher the upper hand.

For those that didn't know what a lag switch was.

For your second point rank is more of a barometer of skill right now than anything since this game is based on personal performance so matching a rank 20 against a few rank 10 isn't exactly the fairest thing in the world or my example of rank 14 vs going against a rank 1-4

Ping =/= bandwidth =/= ping stability =/= packet loss.
