I got bored and started reading game character quotes and found this
Rainbow six siege character "Thatcher" has a quote that perfectly fits this game
"The more crutches you have, the more it hurts when they're kicked out from under ya"
I noticed this greatly fits with this game as the amount of perks that are considered "Crutch" always after they have been changed usually applies this to it, so why did I feel like making a post about a game quote that isn't dbd? Simple
In my opinion, alot of the top tier perks and exhaustion perks are sorta "crutch-ish", Head On not being crutch of course as in no way if you are exhausted will it hurt you
But think about this
If devs decided to do a complete rework on the perks Decisive strike and Adrenaline, and they do something completely different than before, what would happen? You can choose to answer this yourself of course as I know a good portion of you guys are gamers and run meme perks (Psst, No Mither and Solidarity is a great combo)
A different EXPLANATION
But now think of something unrelated to crutches, think of it as "strength" on one of the other sides
A good portion of the killer community disliked the nurse change, even I hated the nurse change, this can fit this quote as well. Nurse was considered as a really powerful killer and in the right-hands, a pretty hard killer to challenge, when she got nerfed including her Omega Blink combo, people instantly thought she went from Top Tier to Bottom tier. Now to the survivor side of this, we had a good portion of perks changed for survivor that would be considered crutch, including exhaustion perks and healing. Originally, exhaustion used to recover while running, making loops really long, this was changed around the Curtain Call chapter, which resulted in Sprint Burst getting a big nerf, I never actually seen the communities reaction to the exhaustion and pallet vacuum change as I joined forums later on. Some people complained about the Balanced Landing change, why I didn't mention this off the bat is by using something someone on here said, "Its called Balanced Landing, not Balanced Landings".
TL;DR for this part- Think of it as "When the stronger character/perk of a role gets nerfed heavily, it hurts that role more"
How you could fix it
2 different ways, each one involve reversing the quote in a certain way
Way 1
Reverse it in general
"The less crutches you have, the less it hurts to get kicked under from you"
Reduce the amount of crutch things the survivors have and crutch things killer have
The community has a weird thing towards the offering "Memento Mori" and some have a weird thing towards certain items survivors have, so change these up to help reduce the crutches.
Way 2
This can go two ways, but at the same time can help out weaker perks
Make sure you read ALL of this or else it might be embarrassing
With the quote being "The more crutches you have, the more it hurts when they're kicked out from under ya"
Make certain crutch things to be more crutch with a big punishment for failing it
If you fail using the crutch, its gonna hurt you back
Lets say Decisive Strike is the perk here, letting it run out just makes it to where you can't use it till next unhook, and missing allows the killer to hook you. So if you made a greater punishment towards missing Decisive Strike, then you will feel this quote hit you right on the sharp end, of the hook.
"But Hoodied you suck horribly at this game, which is why people always trash talk you for sucking at survivor"
Okay kind sir, then how about I explain the killer side instead?
This side of his quote actually applies to Legion, but wacky
to legion he is more "The less crutches you have, the more it hurts when they're kicked out from under ya"
and when missing in frenzy he is punished greatly for missing, so why is the actual hit in frenzy barely punishing?
If you make it to where legion has extremely high power when hitting survivors in Frenzy, this will increase the power of him while missing punishes him, changing his power from less crutches, to more crutches
TL;DR- In summary Thatcher's quote can change ALOT of this game for the better, and possibly change the most used perks up a bit and make certain killers powerful too

I'd have to agree with you
almost all of my perks are perks that will never need nerfs or buffs
