When you start should you play survivor?

I was thinking about this after I escaped a game with a legion. He hit one person and nothing else. After the match I saw he had two legion perks and no add ons. Maybe it's my opinion but survivor when starting off with no blood points not only is funner if you lose, perks and items are less important. What do you think?
