DBD Scarecrow Chapter - "The Fear of Victory" [Revamped]
I made this post before but have revamped it since I know much more about the game and even added a few things, such as the map. Though I doubt this will ever become a chapter, it’s still fun to share ideas for new perks and backstories. I specifically chose Scarecrow for the new killer since he represents the horror theme best and I wanted Gordon for the survivor because he seemed the most likely candidate for the role of a survivor. The new perk changes were made from what the community kinda wants/reactions and the advice I’ve been given from the previous version. I also changed Scarecrow’s ability to make him more unique and not just a copy of the Doctor.
New Map: “Arkham Asylum”
Enter the Arkham Elisabeth Asylum, a large institute housing the most criminally insane with cells along the cold and weathered bricks of the old place, it held many criminals. The inside of the asylum is like a maze with the amount of broken walls from breakout attempts and the debris that covered the ground. The main generator of this map would either be in Warden Sharp’s office or Scarecrow’s cell, outlined with “fear” written along the walls of the cell.
New Killer: “The Scarecrow”
Dr. Crane has always been fascinated with the effects of fear, so much that he’s dedicated his entire life and research to it. One day when he was fired from his workplace he finally let his new persona take form and became the Scarecrow. A mastermind that uses fear as his weapon as well as a large, sharp, and deadly scythe.
Ability: Dr. Crane's Toxin
The Scarecrow can spray an hallucination inducing gas from a range of up to 15 meters, hitting a survivor induces a fear response that blurs their vision temporarily and gives them the oblivious status effect for 60 seconds or until they get put into the dying state.
Perk 1: "Fearful Presence"
Your presence alone instills great fear into your victims, diminishing their ability to seek help. Survivors within your terror radius gain the blindness status effect for 10/15/20 seconds.
“Wonderful how malleable fear makes the mind.” - The Scarecrow.
Perk 2: "Formidophobia"
Sometimes something that appears so lifeless can be the most terrifying thing. Whenever the killer stands still your terror radius increases by 4/8/12 meters and will reveal the aura of any survivor that stands inside the increased terror radius for 4 seconds.
“It’s the fear of victory and the agony of, the Scarecrow!” - The Scarecrow
Perk 3: "Hex: Lord of Despair"
The more fear you create, the more powerful you become. As long as this hex totem is up, all hex totems currently lit will be uncleansable for the duration of the trial.
Effect persists as long as this totem is lit.
“I am the Master of Fear, the Lord of Despair! Cower before me in un-witless terror!” - The Scarecrow
New Survivor: “Detective James Gordon”
Commissioner of the GCPD and a father, Detective James Gordon knows the struggles of life but also knows how to overcome it. He’s seen and dealt with multiple dangerous criminals. One day when the Scarecrow disappeared from Arkham, he was afraid of what terrors Crane would cause until he disappeared as well without a trace.
Perk 1: "Electrician"
The harder you work, the easier things get. When a generator reaches 90/80/75% progression all good skill checks are counted as great for the remainder of the generator’s repair.
- Personal.
Perk 2: "Lockdown"
Your training has taught you a thing or two about survival. While hiding in a locker, the killer cannot open the locker for 4 seconds.
- Lockdown has a cool down of 60/45/30 seconds.
Perk 3: "Great Alliance"
Your allies are sometimes your greatest chance of survival. When you’re within 4/8/12 meters of an injured survivor while you are put into the dying state, that survivor will be healed fully.
This perk can only be used once per trial.

As always advice is welcome for changes you'd make and I hope you've enjoyed reading this idea.
