Key change idea
My idea to change keys is to make it so only the guy that has the key can jump through the hatch. You could make it so the survivor that jumps through the hatch closes it back. This way you won't see 3 people with 1 gen left jumping through the hatch.
Also you could ad an ultra rare add-on that would make it so the hatch doesn't close unless the 2nd survivor jumps through it.
Just an idea, what do you think about this.

What if three people bring a key tho?

Bad idea, Solo survivor is already "everyone man for himself" fiesta and this idea would promote it even further, SWFs wouldnt give a damn since they would just bring more keys or plunderers.

I like the idea but what concerns me is that you trigger endgame with closing the hatch. So even if 1 surv gets out and you close the hatch you give the other 3 players one gen less to repair. So its still a advantage for all remaining survivors. I dont know if that is fair though. So nvm me

I honestly don't feel like there should be a change to Key's. If your asking me specifically I still think the hatch should spawn for the last survivor unless 2 gens are finished. Other than that I think the hatch and Key's are fine.

I think it's a good idea, although I imagine that a lot of people won't think this is enough.
An alternative is to tie the ability of unlocking the hatch in the first place to an add on, needing a second add on to allow another survivor from escaping after you. In addition, perhaps make it so that these add-ons could only work with skeleton keys.
I'd also be interested to see a potential re-work of the base function of a key. For example, for each generator that has been completed you can go to a gate and use a charge to reduce the opening time of the exit gates by 1 (or 1.5) second. This can only be done before the gates are powered. Green key has 2 charges, purple has 3 and pink has 4. After the charges are used, the item is consumed. Maybe when used at a gate, the survivor could be faced with a skill check similar to overcharge or DS. Putting a hatch addon to the key would disable this function.
