Dead Hard not working?

Is there something wrong with Dead Hard? There have been many instances lately where I hit Dead Hard and nothing happens and I get downed like right in front of a pallet and it’s really frustrating so much so that I might switch to SB or Lithe because it just seems to have a mind of its own.

There's a lot wrong with dead hard which is why I've never used it. It's unreliable and I've seen people Dead Hard, get exhausted, and still get hit.

Dead hard is situationally good, but for the most part, once a killer knows you have it, it's trash

I don't know if this is an intended feature and you're just doing it wrong, since I've never used the perk myself, but I have a couple of friends who frequently use Dead Hard and have reported similar issues. Half the time they hit the button, the dash doesn't even activate, and they end up exhausted on the ground.

The only possibility I can think of it is that it's a latency issue, meaning that as far as the server is concerned, the killer has already hit you before you activated the dash, even if you couldn't see it on your screen.

Except for the bugs DH is the best exhaustion perk, you dont use it to dodge hits, its just a safe minidash if you wanna try that greedy pallet or to reach that pallet at last second.

btw which exh perk would you use?

    I run Lithe.

And I understand how to use Dead Hard, I just think it's too unreliable and there's not many situation where Dead Hard would've helped me reach a pallet I couldn't already reach on my own

Yes, Dead Hard is bugged. Especially so since dedicated servers were launched on PC.

If you must continue using it, I'd recommend only using it for distance, as trying to dodge direct hits usually results in getting exhausted with no distance gained. Your mileage may vary.

    It works.

When you use it will be based on the killers connection to the sever. Killer has bad ping, you have to predict when they swing. Waiting for the swing noise will only get you hit. Killer has good ping, works about the same as before.

Only "bugged" part of DH is the exhaustion after being hit. This is because the server registered both the hit and the activation. Since activation isn't the same as iframes the hit counts. Its also possible exhaustion timer is client side.

  • I was totally gonna post about this recently. I use it a lot and it’s so unreliable lately. You never know if it’s gonna work. It’s hit or miss. I’m starting to think I need to replace it.

It's completely broken atm. I play on pc and I think dedicated servers are the reason why it only works 50% of all times. The other 50% you get exhausted and still get hit. I only use it for extra distance in a loop, it is just not reliable for preventing a hit anymore.

F*** dead hard. I honestly hate this perk as a survivor, I go to dead hard and still get smacked all I did was get exhausted. Nothing else. It used to work before archive update but not since. Oh well onto lithe I guess.
