No Christmas Event?
There have been few Christmas events in the past, and although NO event can measure up to that Halloween event with those plants the Christmas ones were still pretty good.
Though this year it seems we're having no kind of event, which actually is fine by me. I wouldn't mind if there even wasn't a changed lobby or in-game lights. Why, you ask? Well because I think the devs have decided to focus on more important things. Such as Dedicated Servers, killer and map reworks.
What do you guys think? Do you want a Christmas event, or do you think events are overrated and too buggy?

They could do a Christmas event and just make it small. Like a Christmas Tree Offering that is easy to find in the blood web that gives everyone in the match 100% blood points. Kind of like the 3rd year anniversary. I do want bugs and stuff worked out, but they could do something and it wouldn't take a ton of time away from it I don't think.

I would be surprised if they didn't do anything at all for Christmas this year, but historically Christmas has been pretty small in DBD. We don't usually have events, per se, just redecorated assets like fairy lights on the hooks, presents instead of mystery boxes in the bloodwebs, and maybe a seasonal bloodhunt. It's a bit early still to conclude that nothing is going to happen, though. For all we know, they could be planning to announce something today, or maybe by the end of this week.

They did say that they were likely going to put a hold on events to focus on "game health"...but meanwhile all we've seen is needless killer nerfs (and killer breaks, like Wraith) and cosmetics. Guess that's their idea of "game health".

Would love to see the christmas lights. Only know them from the Mash-it-up video. But if that means to get another basement bug, erm no.

Not to bust peoples bubbles but didn't they say "no more events for a while" because they wanted to focus on fixing core issues.
Either I missed something or everyone just suddenly forgot.

I love how survivor nerfs, huge ones, are ignored constantly. Instant heals and Balanced Landing alone are big enough to quell complaints, but not for some.

That's not actually what they said. They said that they wouldn't be doing events with unique objectives for a while (like the pustula plants or the lunar lanterns), and that for the forseeable future events would be like the Withering Blight and consist largely of bloodpoint bonuses and themed cosmetics available via the Rift.
Here's the quote, from the November Dev Update:
"Recently, we’ve changed the way we handle in-game events and wanted to take a moment to explain why we’re putting elaborate objectives on hold. Unique event objectives take a huge amount of time to create and test, taking up time that could be spent fixing bugs and creating new content that’s available year-round. Going forward, events will be focused around extra Bloodpoints (through Offerings and/or Blood Hunts), Archive challenges, and event-exclusive rewards within the free track of The Rift. This allows us to focus our efforts on game health, which we ultimately feel is for the best."

I wish I could post it, but there is a leaked image of a Winter Solstice event that was found in the files with The Cursed Legacy Chapter, so there is a good chance we’ll get one tomorrow with the final rift level.

What we need for Christmas is the firecrackers and presents in the blood web, and the presents should also contain rift fragments.
