Why Do Ranks Rarely Matter Anymore...

Why? Why is being mega boosted even allowed to occur? It happens to me with both Killers and Survivors all the damn time(as a survivor main).
Why should I get to be punished for being a good player and climbing up the ranks by getting matched with useless, dare I say brainless, teammates in damn Red Ranks?
Why should I get “rewarded” for my hard work by getting matched with Gray Rank level Killers in Red Ranks who can’t even land a single hit on anyone (usually whiffing or getting 360d all game) much less down and hook someone making the game last 5 minutes and I end up black or depipping because I couldn’t allocate enough pip points in that short time frame and, if I wasn’t chased, have no fun whilst playing Gen Simulator 2019?
I want to be able to have fun/challenging games: I don’t care if I die in the end as long as I pip (if I deserve it of course). I don’t, however, want games that are either impossible to win due to extremely inept teammates that lack common sense or games that hand me wins on a silver platter due to a Killer that is so bad that they don’t even need to be hard looped in order to be ran around all game for 5 gens in, let me remind you, Red Ranks.

Ranks dont matter, but people still want to be in that 1 rank because they can be. and because not everyone can. tbh I used to want to get to rank 1 every season but I dont anymore..theres no point the killers are more try hard than any of the others. If they were to give a plus side to ranking up then yeah i'd agree with it. But I only play for BP now, Screw ranks.

I only decided to climb to be in Red Ranks or high Purple Ranks for the sole purpose of being able to enjoy games with challenging Killers and good teammates but it seems for the past few months, I have not and will continue to not have what I wanted and worked for, for most of my games and that pisses me off. It pisses me off that people can be so boosted that they got to where I am through luck and teammates carrying (or the Killer’s ineptitude), but when they are where I am they get smashed by an actually decent Killer as they can’t loop correctly or mind game. Or I get matched with a Killer who got spoonfed wins from brainless survivors and therefore makes my game overly easy and boring.

Im a rank 4. I hate being here..If my teammates are potatoes I don't try. Why? Theres no point.
1st reason I hate it - Teammates hardly ever save anyone. They ONLY care about themselves
2nd - The killers seem to be a lot worse, there are some (NOT ALL). But then you have some that are not
3rd - Because playing solo is just heartbreaking because of reason 1
It seems like the only way I can enjoy this game at high ranks like I am is to have a swf group. Because then I get to laugh and joke with them and not really stress about the game, But then when you solo q you're left sitting on the hook, or farmed, or tunneled straight outta the game.
hence the reason i stopped caring about rank.

BHVR has basically slapped killers in the face, and I think a lot of them got pissed and either quit the game, or switched to survivor. Rank is totally useless as killer, because as you pointed out, greens are getting matched to purples and reds. As killer it's not a fun experience to go against a team that's far better than you, and unless you're a survivor that gets off on bullying killers, it's no fun for you.

And its because of the new matchmaking..Now you can have a killer/teammates that are 6 ranks above or below you. I think its pretty dumb to be honest. But they did it that way to try to make the matchmaking faster, which in the end really doesn't because then you have super fast games, but then you still wait 5-10 mins for a lobby. So its a double edged sword.
