Despite the fact that I have played the game 600 hours, I think that the devs should continue to balance the game around the lower/middle ranks and not the highest ranks.
Why? Because the lower/middle ranks are the reason there is a player base at all! These are the people newer to the game, less than 200 hours, usually having the most fun. Balancing the game around these players frustrations is better for overall game health, as more people are going to buy the game/cosmetics/DLC if they are having a blast within their first 50 or so hours playing it. The majority of the playerbase isn't hyper competitive, red ranked players. Most people are just playing the game to try things out and have fun.
To that end I do have some ideas for balance direction I think could be smart. Things like making Huntress have some indicator where the hatchet will go would help newer players, but not buff high level players who have played Huntress so much they already know where it will go.
Giving Nurse the Plaid Flannel as base kit would help for similar reasons, experienced players already know where the blink will go so it won't help them.
Another thing I was thinking would be to make it so Trappers traps are always glowing red for him to see, even not behind walls; this would help newer players to pick up/avoid stepping in their own traps much easier, but would hardly help experienced players.
This is just a post to maybe help people here in the forums see another perspective besides the ever present "Why won't they balance based around Red Ranks??" one.

I personally like what you say but would rather they seperate the game slightly
competitive where its more balanced for high skill gameplay (purple and red ranks)
and casual where its balanced for chill games around lower ranks
but Im a pleb and I complain about everything from camping/tunneling to macro flashlight spam and tbagging so dont take anything I say seriously

Then keep having badly designed killer that nobody uses like they were thought like ghostface, or counter play never thought, like not cleansing.

Counterpoint: Many other games that balance at high level seem to not have an issue with lower-level players being frustrated.

Disagree 100%. Making it a common addon was enough and shouldn't become base.
The icon is a distraction. Great if you are learning but once learned it becomes a hindrance. Not all killers need to be easy to play. Having a high skilled based killer is just as important. There are other killers to learn basics with. Don't go diving in the deep end without learning how to paddle.
Basing balance on new players is not good for the health of the game. People don't stay ignorant forever. They willl learn how to play.

I see what you're saying, but my competitive spirit wants this game more difficult and less hand hold-y ^^ Balance around red ranks is what I want. However I know a lot of people would like your ideas :)
I would LOVE a casual mode and rank mode. Casual would very much be what you mentioned above! Rank then could be even more challenging then it is now.
Not sure if having two modes is possible since there is already an issue with lobby times.

You can't do that. It's a terrible idea in any multiplayer game. Characters should always be balanced around their potential strengths and weaknesses, not how awful or dumb people play. Also, rank in this game is basically a time test and not a pure skill test. If you are half decent at the game a play enough, you can hit red ranks. There are plenty of people who hit red ranks that aren't that amazing at the game. The problems they are having with balance right now are either a flaw with character design or from dumb players who complain about things they don't understand. Imagine if Overwatch or LoL balanced the game around gold players. It would be awful. The game could only be enjoyable if you were bad at it or new.

Low tier players are not your longer term base they play put the game down and move on to something else balancing around them is guaranteed to end the lifespan of the game prematurely
