Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Will we ever get Crossover skins?

I know we get licensed characters, but why not general Crossover skins?

(Sorry I am vibing alot on Identity V, I actually like that game...)

Recently Identity V, which is sorta like DBD, got a crossover with the movie "Edward Scissor Hands"

(Sorry for it being in another language near the bottom, but it has english at the top)

Pretty much, if I am correct, they released a new skin for a survivor, new skins for Ripper, and a new map

Ripper is like Wraith's cool brother as he can actually attack while invisible, but still has a killer stain and TR

So I am curious, why do we not have a crossover with another game?

Cause then Devs you wouldn't need to make an entirely new killer or survivor, just a skin for the role, and a map if you want extra spice

I mean, I wouldn't be totally against it, but DBD has a particularly... shall we say vitriolic fanbase. Imagine if instead of Pinhead being a fleshed out killer taking advantage of lore and the movies he was just a skin for Trapper. Instead of Pinhead doing whatever Pinhead does he's just going around setting traps. I wouldn't mind it for lesser known horror characters like Edward Scissorhands, but imagine if they just took Jason after finally getting the rights to put him in the games and he was just a skin. Or if they just made Demo a Xenomorph skin. Only being able to dash forward and go through portals as a Xenomorph just doesn't make you feel like a Xenomorph, only like you are playing Demo with a new coat of paint.

I mean, the logical choice would be a Jason skin for Trapper...and a Sharp Hand Joe skin for Freddy.

I think that would be even worse. Jason is one of, if not the most requested character for DBD but we can't get him because of licensing issues. Imagine if after the legal dispute is over, BHVR announces that we are finally getting Jason, only to find out he's just a skin for Trapper. Do you know how livid people will be? Instead of being Jason, the unstoppable killing machine, you're Trapper in a Jason halloween costume. Kinda puts a damper on the whole experience, eh?

I think having unique characters is better than just skins. Not to mention skins work differently in IDV than in DbD. In IDV you equip one skin and that's it, in Dbd you can mix and match pieces to your liking. For example, if we got a Jason skin for trapper, it would be odd seeing the Jason body with the trapper mask or the Jason mask with a trapper cosmetic etc.

I think having characters be unique instead of just skins is better but that's just my opinion

    We did with DeathGarden, right?

Plus we got Bill & some Survivors have Left 4 Dead skins.

Of course, that's not to say i wouldn't enjoy more.

I think it just depends where its coming from. They definitely could do more like that

I agree about it being a waste of a time for just a cosmetic on an existing killer but I believe Jason would be better as a Meyers skin if that were the case. I don't think it's going to happen as Jason has his own game already. It's unfortunate because I bought both games at the same time and only played Friday the 13th a few hours as I found it kinda difficult to figure out.
