I have not seen it yet, nor will I, so her being the chosen one is actually news to me... that is a disrespect to Anakin for sure. I've watched spoilers and reviews for it.

I saw it, and I enjoyed it. In fact I would say it's tied with Rogue One for best SW movie since the 80s. Granted, that's a low bar... but its the best of the new trilogy and better than any of the prequels.

I thought it was alright, I didnt think it was the best movie ever but I sure enjoyed it more than last jedi. 7/10 in my book

Honestly, it was a fun and interesting movie. If JJ Abrams had been in charge of The Last Jedi I think it would have even been a great movie and a solid new trilogy.
Rey and Kylo's arcs were great, C-3P0 actually got to be something besides comedic relief, and the Force was magical and a compelling part of the story for, like, the first time since the original trilogy.
The movie's biggest failing is that it comes after The Last Jedi. It has to do too much with too little time and it really shows in some parts (Palpatine and his whole faction seem forced in, parts of the movie feel a bit disjointed, the Knights of Ren do frick all, and the whole finale space fight feels rushed).
If you can get over the course correction at the beginning and are willing to accept the new characters, it's a worthwhile movie and easily better than the prequels.

Maybe add a spoiler tag to the title - I'm not personally invested enough in Star Wars to be too upset about having the Rey reveal spoiled for me by clicking on this thread, but some people might be.

Now I dont agree with you on Reys arc, it could have been way better especially with what we learn in this film..
I do agree with you that if JJ did the last jedi the series would have been way better.
