2v8 Lore Issue
So I've written about the issues with 2v8 before (I'll link the post if anyone's interested) but one thing I noted was that a lot of killers are, lore-wise, not inclined to cooperate. So I'm gonna break down which killers would do well in 2v8, lore-wise.
Trapper: Fine. Might not like Wraith for being a proletariat immigrant.
Wraith: very good! For a lot of these other killers, it's "out of sight, out of mind". Although he does have morals, and apparently a temper, so he attack someone like Freddy if he got mad enough.
Hillbilly: here's where we start to have a problem. He has no positive experiences with humans, it's unknown if he can even talk. He would likely see other killers the same way he sees survivors.
Nurse: Nurse is a wild card. Her ability would cooperate would probably depend on how broken her mind is, and a certain amount of luck.
Huntress: She would simply not cooperate. This girl hunted soldiers for sport, she'll just roll her eyes at The Hag or The Legion. Actually, she might try and kidnap Julie or Susie...
Doctor: He could probably be convinced not to hit other killers, if for no other reason than to not give them a reason to kick his butt. But if his static field (soon to be static blast) can hit survivors he doesn't know is there, it might very well hit killers too.
Myers: Maybe The Entity could convince him not to attack killers. Maybe he'd kill them like everyone else. I don't think we know enough to say.
Hag: She'd just try and eat them.
Leatherface: Since he looks at The Entity as a protector he wouldn't kill what it doesn't want him to kill.
Freddy: He probably wouldn't attack anyone. Not physically, anyways.
Pig: She'd keep things professional, I think. Probably see them as fellow disciples of Jigsaw.
Clown: He'd cooperate. But he wouldn't like it.
Spirit: Nope. She's a killing machine. Doesn't matter who.
Legion: The problem with The Legion wouldn't be that they wouldn't cooperate with the other killers, it's that they'd be afraid of them. They're just a bunch of punks who stabbed a janitor. Imagine them meeting The Hag or The Demogorgon.
Plag: I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt and assume The Entity will give all the others killers plag vaccines, so when they don't get sick she'll probably see them as something akin to an angel.
Ghostface: He wouldn't be aggressive, but he would probably be passive-aggressive. He works alone.
Demogorgon: REEEEEEEEE! But really, probably not cooperative. Idk how intelligent it is, but regardless, meat is meat.
Oni: The only person The Oni would respect is The Spirit, who ironically might hold a particular grudge against The Oni since she doesn't have a great relationship with her male progenitors.
Finally, I'm thinking of writing a fanfic with 2v8 trials focused on exploring killer relationships. Would that be interesting?

What would happen if the spirit and the nurse crossed?
0 -
Probably The Spirit would try to kill The Nurse, The Nurse would blink away, and either The Spirit would tunnel The Nurse out of rage or give up and look for easier targets.
1 -
I think that the entity can make killers or survivors do whatever it wants either through torture (Hillybilly, Huntress) because the killers are loyal (Bubba, plague) or maybe through some sort of mindtricks or physical barrier (Myers, Demo)
We know that no killer is completely feral, Demo and hag are both smart enough to break gens and have the discipline to not eat the survivors but to put them on hooks by default. If the entity can make them do that i think it wouldn't be an issue for it tame them all enough not to not harm one another. Or how it blocks gens and the exit gates, it could just make it not possible for them to harm one another. No matter how wild they'll learn to ignore what they cant kill. And keep in mind all the killers already have the mindset on stopping the survivors from opening gates and escaping, other killers wont be trying to escape so i think no matter how you slice it they'll work together
And yeah if you link your little short story ill give it a read, i love this ######### game lol

waddu mean a lore issue? pig and ghostface t-bagging is totally canon :>
5 -
That's not the issue XD the issue would be The Huntress killing them XD
1 -
The Legion would NOT be afraid of other killers. We're talking about psycho teenage edge lords here.. They'd get themselves in trouble, likely landing on the bad side of every killer. Joey would try to feed hag like a dog, Susie would steal one of the Spirits limbs, Frank would try to square up with the Trapper, and Julie would cockily and meanly give beauty tips to the Plague.
You can't scare Punks, they always act bigger than they really are. To show how "not scared" they are they would each do something completely idiotic that would make them hated by every killer.
I disagree with your opinions on the legions ability to cooperate, being someone who has been a teenager and been around dumb teenagers that think they're big and tough, I've seen my fair share of dares to go poke the sleeping homeless guy. And the fact that they are paranormally connected, and they get supernatural strength from the entity, this would only make them more cocky. But I am interested in that potential fan fiction for 2v8 scenarios. Please link me if you do make it.
3 -
When you are done writing the fanfic please link it because I am really REALLY interested. Although I can say that since we don't know how the most plays with both survivors and killers minds it would be hard to tell about their thoughts of other killers. It could be possible that the entity can control the killers by torturing them, that way they will learn not to injure other killers.
1 -
I think there can be varying interpretations of The Legion, the positive feedback on the idea here has pushed me to actually try and write, and I'm probably going to explore both aspects of The Legion. Frank is probably gonna be the 'tough guy' while Susie is in over her head, and the other two are somewhere in between.

I wish I had strong enough words to express how much I loved this. There was so much detail given, without giving names I could tell which killer was attacking who, I also really enjoyed that Amanda and Evan got paired up, and how she mentioned that the Clown took interest in her fingers. PLEASE make more. I'd love to see how each killer interacts with each other, and would very much enjoy if they continue making subtle hints to past interactions with each killer.
My only complaint was that I was left wanting more, I wanted to know who else attacked who during the fight scene, and wanted to know who else would get paired together. Thank you for writing this.
I noticed you gave your email for possible submissions, I may submit later. Also I'm not entirely sure how that archive website works. Will I be able to bookmark that and come back to it for any of your future writing? Or will I need to search for it each time?

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, I just put up chapter two! As for the Ao3 stuff, I'm not that familiar with how it works either; I'm moderately surprised I was able to post at all XD

Reading it now, I'd love to read about 2 legion members paired or Kazan and Rin paired. Keep up the good work! I'll read them as long as you continue posting them. Honestly I'd love to see Kazan's opinion of every killer.
0 -
Kazan and Rin will definitely meet at some point, but tbh I'm gonna wanna do some research on Japanese folklore and Shinto mythology, since that's the lens through which Kazan (in my mind) sees The Entity and everything in the realms. But there will be more Kazan, worry not! I'm thinking I might start a multi-chapter arc involving The Legion...
Side note: I'm a big history nerd and if Kazan was from the 20th century he would tunnel the ######### out of Jake and Min for being Korean and Chinese.
0 -
And as for double legion, Frank and Julie would either be absolutely terrifying or take advantage of not having Joey and Susie around to Shack up in the killer shack. Any other pairing would just be awkward for both of them.

Why wouldn't the Trapper like the Wraith? I have never seen any mention that the Trapper doesn't like immigrants in his Lore
0 -
For one thing, Evan is a rich white guy that was probably raised in the late 1800s in America. It's possible, if not likely, that he was raised to be prejudiced against foreigners and/or black people.
But more importantly, Philip is poor. He's a worker. Evan was taught to look down upon blue collar workers. At best, Evan would see Philip as an expendable resource. At worst, he would see Philip as a parasite trying to leech off of his success and hard work.
0 -
This could be possible but I think you are missing a very important information about the Trapper.
The Trapper was tortured into submission by the Entity and wouldn't dare to not follow the rules and orders given to him by the Entity.
It is also not clear how much of his old self is still in the Trapper maybe he got tortured into a mindless killingmachine with no other thoughts
0 -
That's very true, there is a lot of room for interpretation concerning how much direct control The Entity has over killers.
0 -
Alright, time to give my opinion about your opinions. :P
Trapper: I've gotta echo what @rj1567 said, at this point, he's probably a simple beast, not much going on up there.
Wraith: Yeah, I completely agree here, he still retains some morals which I think would lead to some confrontation with someone like Freddy... for obvious reasons.
Hillbilly: I mostly agree but, to be fair, lore states that Max is surprisingly smart. With that said though, your statement still stands pretty strong.
Nurse: Yup, 100% agree here.
Huntress: Absolutely agree, if she hunted fully kitted out WW1 soldiers for sport then she'd gladly try it for opponents more her level.
Doctor: I honestly believe he's intelligent enough to work with other killers and too know when to use a certain ability at a certain time to avoid collateral damage.
Myers: Probably the biggest wild card, I really have zero idea how he'd take to working with others.
Hag: Yes, yes she would.
Leatherface: With how terrified he is but also loyal, I agree yet again.
Freddy: I could definitely see him trying to screw with other killers emotionally and psychologically.
Pig: I think she would TRY to keep things professional but with how jealous she was in the films, if another killer began receiving more admiration from the Entity, she'd definitely try and backstab them.
Clown: Yeah basically
Spirit: I think with how fractured emotionally she is, she could be trying to work with someone one second then immediately turning one them the next.
Legion : Gotta say, I agree with what @aderpymuffin said, they're a bunch of edgy teens that want to cause trouble(except for Susie, kinda) and most likely, they would try but fail.
Plague: That's actually a very interesting idea, I quite like that.
Ghostface: I actually could see Danny going two ways. He'd either be thrilled to share the "moment" with someone or something else, after all, he was known as a swell and likeable guy by day or he'd be pissed because they'd be denying him his "moment".
Demogorgon: Since I'm basically a certified Demo expert, here's how I see it. Demo's can be equated to a highly intelligent animal and, obviously, Demo's can be trained to do specific tasks. So, I kinda disagree/agree, it would take a bit to get it used to working with others but I think it would shape up eventually. In the meantime though, LOTS of ripping and tearing would be happening to achieve that goal.
Oni: This one especially makes sense. Oni would probably view other killers as below him and Rin. He'd also probably try to kill the Demogorgon at every turn because he might view it as a "abomination".
Now, with all this said, the devs could definitely just say, "oh, the Entity is forcing the killers too work together or else they'd get severely tortured" but you definitely bring up some good lore points.
One final completely unrelated note, I'm FINALLY doing something that has taken a lot of courage from me to do... and I'm still not looking forward to it. *wink wink*
2 -
oni would respect spirit and all but if she holds a grudge like his father he might go batshit and kill her
and as for the rest of them they would all ######### hate each other except maybe ghostface and freddy. pig would probably be terrified considering amandas character and the rest would be forced to work together if this ever became I mode (I hope it does)

Yay!!! You can do it! And thanks for sharing your feedback! There's actually a lot of what you mention in my fanfic, but also a lot of divergence. I'd love to hear what you think if you want to give it a read!
1 -
I'll definitely give it a read once I'm back from work, from what I've seen from the others, it's probably pretty damn good. If you don't mind, could you specifically give me some feedback/further opinions on what I say about Hillbilly, Doc, Myers, Pig,, and especially, Ghostface, Spirit, Demogorgon and Oni? If you don't mind, of course.
0 -
Hey,I'm still waiting for part 2. When you finish it,would you mind link it to me? I really cannot wait. Also all your discussions are so interesting :3

Thanks! I've actually added a number of chapters, at the top or bottom there's a Next Chapter button.

I wonder how the legion would react to Plague
0 -
I think Hillbilly could recognize that the other killers are different, I just don't think he'd care. He killed a bunch of cows, which he had probably never seen before. He simply doesn't have a good relationship with living things. But he could definitely learn; Tinker definitely indicates he's smarter than he seems.
I think The Doctor is still off his rocker. He didn't snap like The Nurse, he slowly descended into madness. Maybe he won't see other killers as "diseased" but I doubt it. He seems like an egomaniac who would never accept anyone as an equal. That said, in my fanfic, the new environment of the fog in some ways snaps Carter out of it and awakens his curiosity.
For Myers and Pig, I just made my best guesses. I don't know their lore outside of the game; I haven't watched any Halloween or Saw movies, so I'll take your word about Amanda's jealousy issues. And Myers co-opping really is unprecedented. I doubt he developed the best social skills while locked up, but we really have no idea.
Ghostface is another question mark. His lore was mostly developed through him reminiscing about his crimes, but we don't get a ton about his personality or history aside from that.
An emotionally volatile or constantly fluctuating Spirit is definitely a possibility, and much more interesting than a permanently enraged one. I'll probably be using your version in my fanfic, if you don't mind. I'll be sure to give you credit!
The Demogorgon definitely isn't a mindless animal. Not as intelligent as humans- at least, not intelligent in the same way- but not to be underestimated. Definitely could be "trained".
The Oni definitely would hate all the other human killers except Rin. I disagree about The Demogorgon reaction though- you'll see in Chapter 2.
1 -
I think Myers wouldn't cooperate. Lore-wise, he can even ignore the rules of the Entity and kill survivors when enough Evil fills him.
Spirit would try the super-high-skill-cap-200-IQ-play-minimum-3k-hours-to-even-pull-it-off 'mindgame' of standing still like a dolt at a loop to try to trick the Nurse. The latter, being completely clueless about what a loop even is, would just proceed to blink and smack her booty. Then, she'd mori the Spirit on the spot, stealing her sighing breath to make a new add-on out of it.
Enter:
1 -
Come on, Rin isn't THAT edgy. Ghostface is the edgy one. Rin is just standing at the pallet ready to drop it in the first weeb that calls her his waifu
2 -
You should watch Saw and Halloween, for Saw at least the first three and Halloween I suggest the og one, 2, H20 and H2018.
I personally think Ghostface would be a "good" guy until he got crossed.
I'm glad you like the Spirit idea, you don't have to credit me if you don't want to. :)
Very interested to see what is happening with Oni and Demo in chap 2. =O

Hello again, so I was finally able to read your stories and gotta say, yup, they're pretty great.
I loved how initially they did what everyone thought they'd do, fight like hell. I'd like to once again, take it step by step.
I honestly really liked the interaction between Evan and Pig at the end of the initial post. It comes across as two co-workers with mutual respect for their actual personalitys but not their actual work. I also loved how you made Evan, basically, respectful gentleman.
For chapter 2, I only have one gripe with it. I don't like how easily the Demo backed down. We're talking about a creature that massacred a entire facility and can shrug off point blank gunshots, I'm sorry, but I highly doubt someone big shouting at it would cause much of a reaction. Too be fair though, you could argue that this Demo we have in DBD isn't THAT original Demo. With that out of the way, you did make me change my mind about Oni's perspective, I really liked how much honest respect he had for it. Also, THANK YOU for making the Demo not just some mindless creature.
Chapter 3, I kinda figured Freddy would be a complete asshat, it's just what he does. My question is, what happened that made Freddy go that hard on Max and also, what was the interaction like before the trail? I didn't see such kindness coming from Max though. On final note, I loved how Quientin was thrilled to hear that Freddy was mori'd.
Chapter 4, I'll make this short, I really like how you write the Legion gang, they honestly seem very down to earth compared to other killers. Doc is also pretty interesting, out of trials, as you said, he seems very condescending yet a bit likable still . In trials though, he's a absolute professional who wants to do his job, no interruptions.
Chapter 5, I'll make this even shorter, I adored how you wrote Nurse and Wraith. I also found it quite amusing how Tapp tried to both use killer tools and take them.
Chapter 6 is very starting to delve into Evan kinda being a "historian" figure, which is very enjoyable to see. It's also nice how you touched on just how lonely Evan must feel. I'd also like to say, big props for making time basically meaningless, keeping true to actual lore.
One final thing, a request, after Kazan and Rin(btw thanks again for using my idea for Rin having "shattered" emotions that fluctuate, greatly appreciated) I'd love to see how you handle Ghostface. Especially his whole swell and likable guy portion then happy go lucky murderer by trail.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Writing Evan is an interesting exercise, because on the one hand, his perspective is rooted in the late 1800s, but on the other, his time in the fog has made him realize how pointless so many of those social hang-ups are.
For The Demogorgon, I agree that a louder shout probably shouldn't have made it do a complete 180. But I have a lore reason and a practical reason for this. Lore-wise, I subscribe to the idea that the DbD Demogorgon is not the Stranger Things Demogorgon and is in fact a baby Demogorgon, since (from what I've been told) the Stranger Things Demogorgon is 8 or 9 feet tall and the DbDemogorgon is around 7. As for the story, I didn't want to make the chapter too long, so I more or less cut to the chase. Also, I know I'm gonna have to do it eventually, but I feel like I'll be bad at writing proper fight scenes.
For Chapter 3, all I'll say is that I have plans for Freddy and Max that will explain a lot of why they acted the way they did and allow you to infer what happened pre-trial. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back to either of those characters for a while. My plans for 7, 8, and 9 are Rin and Kazan, Legion and Ghostface, and Hermann and Evan.
The Legion is fun to write, and also the easiest to write (probably because they're fairly modern teens in a Western society, like myself). I like that I have a lot of agency to develop their characters. We basically know Frank is the bad boy, Julie is the popular girl, Joey is impulsive, and Susie is a hanger-on. That gives me so much room to work with! Frank could be trans! Julie could have a love of chemistry in general and poison in particular! Joey could be an eco-terrorist! Susie could be another killer's granddaughter! As for The Doctor, he's another fun one. In my mind he combines Freddy's sadism and arrogance with Amanda's professionalism and dedication and his own messed up brand of intellectual curiosity.
I'm glad you like WraithxNurse! It's the only canon ship (except maybe DwightxMeg but we don't talk about that) and I liked the challenge of creating a very different mood compared to the other stuff. And of course Tapp is gonna try to use The Wraith's gear! What's the worst that could happen, he dies?
Evan is definitely gonna be important. And yeah, he's definitely lonely.
Rin and Kazan are coming next chapter, possibly later today! They've been the most requested pairing and your interpretation has given me the framework for it to be more than "Rin jumps Kazan with his own sword". And thanks to your request, Ghostface will be after that! I like requests because they can help me make up my mind and flesh out where the story goes next. Hermann was The Legion's info source because someone asked for him to be involved and I was like "yeah... this will work. This will work great!" And now I've got Plans for him.
But now, homework :(
Edit: almost forgot: thanks for the feedback!!! I really appreciate it!

I could 100% see Evan having many conflicting feelings. On one hand, he's a professional and was brought up showing respect to others that are deserving of it. On the other hand though, he arguably knows much more about the Entity then any other killer. For all he knows, this is simply a short phase that the Entity is going through so he might not want to make many connections despite how lonely he is. To add onto that, he might think they're simply talking to him literally just as a ends to a need, nothing more, nothing less.
For the Demo, I truly wish that it's backstory had more to it because it never remotely explains if it's the og Demo or just simply another one. Another conflicting thing is if it's a young or adult Demo. Just standing, it's around 7ft tall but I believe I heard a dev say one time, if it properly stood upright, it would easily be the tallest killer at around 10ft, which leads me, personally, to believe it's a adult but I'm not certain on it. I know writing for Demo must be hard but, this might sound crazy, but I'd love a chapter from it's perspective. Something akin to this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNoQZ9rTVvQ.
I'm definitely interested to see where this story goes. I'll be honest though, I'm super interested to see Herman and Evan work together. It'll be cool to see two absolute professionals work together on a work level but probably clash on a personal level and of course, I'm looking forward to how Ghostface sees the "off brand" version of himself with one of the Legion members. Like I've been saying, apparently he's a swell guy but seeing something like that might get him pissed off for obvious reasons.
Wraith and Nurse has always been a interesting couple to say the least. I've also gotta say, I definitely liked the shift in tone for that one, made it much sweeter. I also wasn't thinking that would be the worst thing to happen. I was thinking more along the lines of Entity punishment, if he actually succeeded in taking the items, of course.
Hoping it does come later today! Once again, truly appreciate the complements about the Rin idea and the fact that you're using it is super cool. I also really appreciate the fact that you take feedback and suggestions so seriously. Good luck on your homework!

So umm, that ended pretty dark, though it does make sense because of how loyal Kazan was towards the samurai ways. Hearing how Japan has now abandoned the old ways to embrace the new and ESPECIALLY hearing a descendent of his embrace those ways probably crushed him emotionally. Fantastic work!
On a completely different note though, what did you think of my Demo idea? Also, if you watched it, did you think the video would be a good way of going about how the Demo's thoughts could come across as? Maybe a bit less aggressive and hateful though and more, curious.
0 -
Listening right now and it yeah, writing from The Demogorgon's perspective would be a really interesting challenge! It's definitely something I'll keep in mind for the future, but I'm hesitant to do it for a few reasons. First, I feel like writing it that way might be confusing, especially if it was part of a multi-chapter arc. Second, I feel like assigning human thoughts, reasoning, and feelings to it would undermine The Demogorgon's mystique. I don't think an extra dimensional predator would have thoughts we could comprehend. Finally, I haven't watched Stranger Things and I wouldn't want to accidentally cross the lore there.
1 -
I can definitely see it being confusing, I'd honestly would have to say it would probably have to be part of another single chapter but that's all you. For your second and thrid part, you make very good points here. Since you haven't watched ST's I'll try to keep it as spoiler free and as short as possible. When it comes to the Demo's, they are very "hush hush" on their actual origins. On theory though is that their either evolved humans or humans that were once experimented on and broke loose and, well, took over. So if you subscribe to either of those theories then that could help.
0 -
Yeah..... no, I'll take a new game mode over caring about the lore that always gets rewritten anyway.

Freddy would attack if they came to his street! Haven't you seen freddy vs jason?
