So is this it for Legion?
He/she has had so many changes to make him/her viable but as of now he/she is the worst killer in the game :(
Should we expect anything in the near future to help out this little gang, or is this the end for a long while?

i'd say clown is worst personally cause legion does have some slowdown built into it,but yeah he's pretty bad.You really need to master him to be able to play him effectively

They are far from the worst in the game
People are just bandwagening on them being bad without even trying
After playing mostly Legion i've come to the conclusion that the latest changes were more a buff then anything
They are being monitered and if they need tweaking they will get it
I think just a couple of QoL changes are all they need for base, like not being punished so hard from missing an attack
Their addons really need to be looked at though

I expect 1-3 smaller patches for the Legion, but I can't know when they come.
By the patches I think less on balance, but I believe that the Legion should have a fluid gameplay and that she hasen't.
The pre patch Legion had a fluid gameplay, no matter what someone maybe thins of the concept of the Legion.
The Legion today feels as she would try to be 2 seperat killers on the same time and that don't feel fluid and also not after a good concept.
The necessary changes for that would be minimal and we can be thrilled how long bhvr needs to make this minimal changes :).

I certainly hope Legion gets some buffs. I've invested too much cash into 'em!!

The two big survivor DC backlashes were when Freddy and Legion came out. Freddy got a redesign and is no longer an "annoying" killer. Buffing Legion without changing his basekit and mechanics will only increase DCs on him again. Either he stays nerfed or he gets changed into a new killer. Either way, if you liked playing old Legion he's gone forever.

And who cares?
Seriously, bhvr is the only companie I know, that takes toxic behavior serious.
In any other game, dcer would be either ignored, kickd from the servers, or banned.
But here use even some devs them as an argument.
Some may say, that dbd would lose players if those people would go.
I say dbd is losing players, everyday!, because of this guys.
And now ask yourself: What is more unhealthy for the game?

They could at least decrease the stun after Feral Frenzy to 3 seconds instead of 4... I just hate being Decisive Striked after I exit Feral Frenzy.

The devs are planning to keep a close eye on Legion and see how he performs for the time being. There are no plans to buff Legion in the near future, but there are no plans not to buff them either. They're just going to observe and see how it goes and if they decide they need to make more changes, they will.

I feel like they're going to just continue to be problematic.
They have a power that was designed for chasing, now you can't even use it within a chase.
They're designed for stalling, but by the time they finish chaining attacks people are already recovered, and they're then susceptible to all the same looping as other M1 killers with the last person, except every other M1 killer's power still functions within a chase.
They still have so many drawbacks that don't even make sense any more, like not seeing scratch marks in frenzy, which is no longer relevant and just makes approaching a gen that's out of sight a coin flip as to whether you see the person running off it.
The way I see Legion is that they went too ambitious with trying to recreate the chase mechanics from the ground up. Either he feels fluid and fun to use, and he's completely inescapable, or he feels like ######### from the killer side and he's easy to play against. I really don't see any tweaks that could be made to his power that don't push him to one extreme or the other.
I really hope they rework Legion Freddy-style and make a new power from the ground up that still fits them, but I've really lost hope that they'll give up on the train wreck that he is.
1 -
I hope they make those changes thinking about the fluidness and fun of the people playing and not ONLY on the kill potential.
Ex: Increasing feral frenzy's duration. The power becomes boring this way, they need a different approach like reducing the fatigue, increasing the movement speed, being able to see blood, basic attacks not reducing the power gauge, being able to miss more than 1 attacks while in FF, being able to use the power at X% filled gauge or more, etc etc.
Those little things that make him look like a frenzying killer, and not ONLY from a competitive perspective of being a killer able to hit multiple survivors even more.
I think you get the idea.
0 -
Yeah, I expect they will take that into account. At the very least, I know that they never make changes solely based off kill count or trying to make a killer as strong as possible. They definitely take fun into account as well.
2 -
Some changes that behaviour made to killers make me doubt if that is still their idea.
Because the legion patch in may was basically "let's make legion a m1 killer with no power, almost literally" because it has so very little potential to do anything that you might as well play without it sometimes.
ANd the nurse patch. They should put the cooldown on the power, only when she succeeds a hit, so she isn't able to hit -> blink->hit.
I'm hoping that they do the right things this time.
EDIT: The recent changes with the ms buff and faster vaulting were in the right path tho.

Pretty sure they said they wanted to rework Legion again at some point when they initially changed them, and nothing they have recieved seems like an actual rework to me. When? Who knows.
They need a proper rework. At the moment the usefulness of their power is tied at the hip to the Deep Wounds mechanic in general, and it's obvious the devs will never let any "the survivor will go down in a predetermined amount of time" interactions ("moonwalking") exist in the game for any meaningful amount of time. First the initial change to stop the original look-at-the-ground cheese, then the more recent change after people figured out Nemesis could accomplish similar results at all.

I never heard them say that and i have been following their ideas about the legion.
Either way, they said in the last devstream that now that they have deep wounds fixed, they can start changing legion without the need to worry about if Deep wounds will get broken or not.
They are in the right path now i think.
1 -
Yeah don't take my word for it, pretty sure they did say it was a temporary thing after the first big change Legion got but what they did afterwards might've been the "not temporary" fix.
I agree though, I don't really see any way current deep wounds can lead to that sort of scenario besides... I guess trapping someone in a corner so they can't run? In which case the killer could just hit the survivor anyway, and even that might not work as they could hold shift and spin around which might count as running 😄
I'm just glad they gave Legion the fast vaulting back, that sort of smaller changes on their own help a lot. Could try stuff like shorter stun at the end of FF, mess with mend time and obviously their addons and whatnot. Guess we'll see what they do.

The first nerf was because Old Legion had little counterplay.
In my opinion Legion is still a good killer but that's if you're using Blood Echo and Thanatophobia.

I remember also that they allegedly had plan to rework the Legion a second time, but I honestly don't know anymore if that was really the words from a dev, or just wishful thinking of some guys.
The Legion had barly survive the last rework and it completely destroyed the old gameplay of the Legion.
I am not sure if I would like to see a second rework.
Don't know what crazy ideas then would come up. Maybe a 10 sec stun after every m1 attack because people getting still from the Legion hooked?
Nah... I am happy about small changes and that things don't get worse.

Why is he the worst killer?

That’s crazy to say Legion isn’t viable. I played a Rank 2 Legion, my team is 4,5,6,2, and we got destroyed with only the 2 escaping through hatch.
Legion, with the appropriate perks and add-ons, is without a doubt still viable.

Legion is pretty bad but in no way the worst killer. Have you played as clown? You honestly need to rely on getting a team of potatoes in order to have a good game as clown.
1 -
Well, i want that legion's power can down survivors. I mean, after the first hit, without the broken pin, their power is useless. I liked when you could've down survivors with it. Like yeah, im going to mend bcs legion stabbed me, yay 10 seconds, go and do a gen while legion is chasing other survivor, the other survivor finished the mend and he's going to do a gen.Legion finally got to the last survivor, now he can loop legion for a long long time while all the gens are done, everyone escapes with adrenaline.

I used to main clown until low purple and red ranks. Man, oh man, does it get hard.

This free hit is really a curse^^.
So many people think that this is something special. Sometimes it sounds even better as any other killer abilitiy.
Killers with experience barley miss a hit. It happens and I bet to every player, but comon...
I would trade the first hit happily to anytime, against any other killer abilitiy.
... As long as I am not playing on console. People tell that they have there some serious problems, because of framerates or so.

I still play him in my rotation at rank 1. It's just hit or miss. If I get a survivor group that sucks then I do well with clown. If i get a group of skilled survivors I stand no chance. I'm honestly amazed at the skill difference among players at the same rank.

I agree with what you said.
Now the biggest issue with legion is that killers that are really good with a high number of survivors at the same time, are usually too good or too bad.
Because if they can deal with 4, they can deal with 1 very easily. Now legion is very weak right now.
When the devs did the update back in may, they had 2 choices: maintain the chase power, or the chaining hits power.
They chose the 2nd option and that leads to the point that i've mentioned before.
Legion's power was designed for both things and, for me, i think the power would be better to be a chase power that you run faster and stab the person and can vault windows faster (not pallets).
This video will show a idea to change the power to something good on chases and forget the chaining hits and killer instinct. I like this idea.
EDIT: I just think that the fatigue should be 3 instead of 4.

I’ll have to watch when time is free! I do think Legion is viable even though I suck with him/her.
0 -
I think legion isn't viable and i do well with them.
When you judge a killer, it's mainly their power that needs to be judged (the main part of their gameplay identity) and legion's power is really underwhelming, lackluster, too restricted and feels bad to use, compared to the OG legion's power.
That's why i think legion isn't viable
0 -
Eh. That’s why I find Legion viable. I’ve played too many Red Legions that get the 4k against us or at least 2.
Frenzy puts you into -2 health states since you have to mend then heal. Which gives a good Legion all the time to make his/her rounds or makes it a living hell for the last person hit.
0 -
I don't think it is that good because good survivors won't heal vs legion. Also, it is very hard to chain more than 2 hits if survivors go for the better play which is to spread out and do gens alone.
The power can't help in chases and in map travel unless you have duration add-ons (which makes the killer add-on reliant).
I rarely get a 2 or less kills with legion but that is because i have around 800 hours with them and i sweat a lot playing (sometimes). Either way it feels very bad to use their power, the killer needs mostly QoL changes and buffs along the way, because the QoL changes are some buffs too.

I really enjoy playing legion because you don't need to kill everyone to fill your deviousness. If i can get 30k ish bp, it's a win in my book and legion usually does that.
I think people assume killers to kill everyone, every game. It's not necessary. It's also less stressful that way.
0 -
But from my understanding Legion was intended to be add-on reliant? I just feel if the power is buffed then gg to me because I already struggle against good Legions.

As of today, I got to rank 1 for the first time since playing for a year. And I did I with Legion. I think they are fine the way they are.

Legion is not the worst killer in the game but he's not top tier either. He is however being monitored. So expect more changes just not for a while.
0 -
He is really easy to rank up with. Is that overperforming in the devs' eyes?
0 -
Well tbf the ranking system isn't the best

Agreed

Not worse killer that goes to Nurse nowadays.

Don't worry. All you need to is wait 2 more years for the Legion rework. They will get plenty of cosmetics in the mean time, though~
