Should there be a separate rank mode and normal mode?
I feel like the rank system in DBD doesn't work that well but still acceptable overall. The only thing which has been bugging me since i first played this game is that it doesn't offer players ways to test out some characters, perk combo or have fun without bothering about ranks (as we always match up to other good players while testing out the new characters).

No, if there's a ranking system in the game it's only to make matchmaking better, if there wasnt any new player could get against 6,000 hours players. Plus, people could play in that mode to be the most annoying possible with facecamping and all, since they are half of the time de-piping when they use that strategy. There is no way to make an healthy not ranked mode on that game sadly (except custom game but ya know)

Now for a serious answer.
My feelings on this are quite mixed. On one hand, trying to test out new characters at high ranks, or just playing a character you're unfamiliar with at high ranks tends to be more pain than fun. I'd be all for an unranked mode for this reason.
On the other hand, when matchmaking doesn't pair green rank Survivors with rank 20 Killers (which has been about 70% of my Survivor games recently), it actually does help separate skill level, it's just a little botched right now. Having an unranked mode would be much worse than the current situation, as you'd have brand new players going against people who have been playing for literal years.
My real answer will be no. Trivago was just too tempting.

No, lobbies already take too long and if with another game mode it would increase more, and I realy don't care to use MoM at red ranks
